I think that this February will start off on a cold note but nothing exceptional. Personally, I don't see any real signs of an easterly and the continent is not particularly cold anyway. I expect more Atlantic driven weather with a lot of PM incursions mid-mon

th followed by more settled conditions to end with higher diurnal temperature ranges as the sun gathers strength.

So, a pure guess - a little below average at 3.9 for me please

Difficult month to guess as most others have said.

Think I'll go a little bit low, as I believe the first week will be cold.

Then the anticyclone to settle over us with a drift from the east will give frosty nights and a low CET.

Therefore I'm going a 'warm' 1.7C, I was going much lower.!!

Well a rare cold start to the new month is about to happen, the only other time we have been able to say this in the last 18 months was August 2014..

It really has been a lengthy warm period...

Will update this, but as of 2320h, 83  late Feb 1st, 86 forecasts are in, median is now 3.6 C and these values have still not been taken (saves you a long scroll through the forecasts) ...

5.9 to 7.9, 5.3 to 5.7, 5.1, 3.3, 2.4, 1.6, 1.4, 1.2, 1.1, 0.9, 0.8, 0.6. 0.5, 0.3, 0.2, 0.1 and all negs except -0.5, -1.1 and -4.6

Range is -4.6 to 8.0, clusters in mid 4s and also in mid 2s, so rather bimodal in our thinking but generally coldish.

Table will be updated as long as I can edit.

Oops late this time!  Very hard, but I think February is likely to be generally anticyclonic after the 1st week with little in the way of snow, but some decent frosts at times with perhaps a warm up towards the end of the month.  I will go with 3.8C please.
