Has anybody else ever seen a double halo around the moon?

We have had thickening Cirrus over the last hour and a short while ago I noticed a bright inner glowing halo, a gap and then an outer halo. Previously I have only ever seen either of those on their own.

That's just the effect of the vodka and coke you have been consuming :p

Maximum of 07.8C today, not quite springlike with a distinct chill in the air, but pretty much sunny from start to finish with only light high cloud moving in later ahead of tomorrow's inclement weather.

Yes but only when it's been cold - it's ice crystals reflecting the light. Saw it here two or three weeks ago, the second halo was huge.

Yep, Spring is certainly in my mind too.

Want to get out in the garden, clean the car, clean the windows, all the things you do when the weather turners drier and warmer, and nights get lighter.

Certainly not interested in anything cold now, especially as it would have to be proper proper cold to get snow her in Weston.

Disagree with that, doesn't need to be proper deep cold at all, we certainly didn't have that in march '06 but still had lying snow here from a north westerly but I'm looking forward to spring now & here's hoping some of the charts showing high pressure just to s/se of the uk are on the ball.

A touch of wintriness showing on the precip charts for Monday, obviously higher ground favoured. I'm sure it won't cause any issues, but the usual high ground suspects might see a bit more sleet or snow in some showers. :)

I think Tuesday looking at forecast seems best chance for decent wintry showers with snow in heavy ones for low ground maybe?

Bright and breezy after a blustery period in the early hours. Anyone noticed the big thunderstorm between Ireland and Wales, heading this way? I hope so!

Gah, that stormy band looks like its losing its lightning intensity already, typical. Still, looks like a very wet mid afternoon onwards to come.

Been fair crack sunny here until now, as it's increasing in cloudiness, wind is notably strengthening.

There's a squall line that seems to hav developed on the front, that strengthens & decreases. Interesting to see it's next steps,

What a drop in temperature as that went through, 09.6C as it arrived and 05.2C after it had passed. Very heavy rain for a little while with squally winds before calming down and now there's hardly a breath of wind with blue sky in the distance.
