Lightning near Wells in the last half hour or so and precip type showing up as sleet although that can prove inaccurate.

Tonight and early tomorrow could well be the last chance of wintriness until next winter given the prolonged HIGH pressure forecast and rise in temperatures from Wednesday onwards.

Yes Monday seems to be snow day of late. We had a couple of inches last week. I end up being the lonely snow chaser on southwest thread after February though as most give up down in these parts.

Tonight looks interesting, my met office app shows heavy snow again for tonight and Tuesday although turning sleety around mid day before turning back to snow in evening.

Ahem......

Heavy falling snow over the Blackdown hills on the Devon/Somerset border this morning and it was starting to settle on the fields. OK not in my area, but still nice to see and it's

now spring!

Had a wet snow shower today, so that brings the total up to 3 snow days this winter(+spring), although that is only about 14 minutes snows worth... Ah well, the search will continue next year!!

Mum confirmed overhead lightning and booming thunder in Backwell just before 19:30 which means the flash I thought I saw when that hailstorm came through most likely was lightning, even though I didn't hear the thunder here. Just goes to show how thunder gets drowned out by strong winds - don't know why or how but I've had that before, seeing lightning quite closeby but not hearing anything.

My money is on Netweather.

A wet start here this morning, everything dripping from a recent passing shower, with more to come.

Netweather was wrong, it's just changed, dramatically

How weird because the suggestion is that up to 07:05 it was quite someway behind with it's radar map. Between 07:00  - 07:05 it took a massive leap in positioning of the rain.

Would explain why everything was so wet this morning as that lot passed through.

A lovely start to the day chilly but not too bad, I could see the Brecon beacons as I came down the hill from Cold Aston this morning and they all stood out with their whites tops, Hay Bluff as well.

The Netweather one was crocked when I had that hail shower at 2am. There was nothing on the radar.

Certainly looking forward to the warm settled spell coming up this weekend. Once the warm settled weather is here, I hope we don't look back.

I don't know if you can seee this pic or not? I can see the moonbow on my phone- it's bad quality because i had to take the pic fast, as it was fading, so i had no time to to adjust the iso or shutter speed on my phone..
