Looks' like a lot of our region has seen some snow at last, thank F--k for that.

No more snow here but still some on the ground and everywhere looks frozen, our cornish lanes are going to be dodgy this morning.

Indeed they were for me.

I cycled into work this morning, smaller roads were iced up! But main roads all gritted .

Gears on the bike all frozen also but lovely to see everything glistening White .

Yay! At last! So pretty on trees, hedges and buildings! Patches remain on our road too but the poor paper boy was pushing his bike today! Bit too slippery! Probably about 2cm overnight and suspect enough for kids to be snow balling at school shortly!

We had four good heavy snow showers last evening .

All lasting a average of 30mins.

But yes we were in the right place this time and I agree we have the whole of February ahead of us so still loads of time for a reload!

Have a good day my friend.

Ps.... Was a beautiful ride in icy conditions.. Makes a change from the rain!

Good to see snow in Cornwall. Going by the pictures it did't settle on the roads and pavements?

Let a bit of air out of the tyres as well.

Thanks Katemart great tip! It was all surprisingly ok this morn although tonight maybe different. Hope you have a fabulous day and enjoy the prettiness of it all. It seems we are all romantics after all and just lice how lovely it all looks. Seems Hampshire and fleet and most of Surrey are still enjoying it falling from the sky... What's the potential I wonder for some more short showers this Avo? Bbc news this morn suggested a few short ones? Right at work I now am but I'll be keeping the net weather forum open in the background.. Have a fabulous day. PB

At last the snow shield was breached! A centimetre or two last night.Don't suppose it will stay long but at least we can say we have seen snow this winter.

Settled on untreated surfaces but not as much as on the lawns and hedges.

Only 3 hours sleep.. X_x

-0.2°C and white.

I took the trusty tape measure out, and on a level surface, I had 4cm. ;)

I've heard fire engines go out, so I guess it has caused problems?! I'm surprised the MetO didn't extend the warning while the event was taking place?

Yep sounds about right, 1 degree different between your coastal location and mine 7-8 miles inland. The cloud cover is doing us no favours with regards to frost.
