That had to be one of the worst MetO forecasts in  a long while, It was downgraded and down graded, in the end in true terms for us here it meant light rain with a total of 1.5mm. I should have stayed in Norwich they fared so much better and we took the risk based on the forecasts to come home early to get the storms. MetO this time you were well out of line.

Absolutely Dorsetbred I didn't see one flash of lightning or hear any thunder......just rain and considering we were under an estefex level 2 for a while it's a big fail for met o.

Well there's a surprise...... not. a fairly benign affair in the end. At least the garden got a watering and my water butt is full again.

 

Remind me to never listen to any warning like yesterday's ever again.

 

Funny how today's weather is going to pan out like forecast.... cloudy cooler with light drizzle.

6.1mm rain and neither sight nor sound of a storm.  Steady, light rain, very good for the garden!

Sorry i made a mistake on my last post the overall rainfall from this event was 15.8mm as the time clicked over to midnight the rain total reset and i didn't check it properly.

Quite an intriguing and clear dividing line through this region this afternoon with long periods of blue sky to the South and mostly gloomy threatening cloud to the North associated with the stalled/pivoting front, the satellite shows this clearly too. In between the two we've had some warm sunny spells but it has been mostly overcast.

Perfect wind direction! I always do well when the conditions are like this, hence Portland at 17°C and Hurn at 15°C

Lots of blue sky today, and feeling very nice at 18.6°C

Gawd peeps.. I don't normally make comment about temps in summer as long as the sun shines.. But really just looked at the weather iPhone app.. ( couldn't be bothered to find local weather stations) and tonight in Newbury it said average 13 degrees tonight. But London 24 degrees. Now I know there is the whole microclimate thing but really 13 degrees dropping to 10 overnight... Please when will we get a "it's too hot to sleep" scenario? .. Just a little more warmth would be nice. Rant over. .. If it carries on like this the only plus side is I'd have acclimatised to winter - I'll still be braving wearing my shorts in December and have low heating bills! Lol.. !!

Yes a perfect summer day, early 20s with plenty of sunshine, a gentle breeze and patches of Cirrus/Altocumulus. There was a surprise sharp shower and a cloudier period around 09.30 where I was out working so I can only guess a weak trough moved through.

Very pleasant afternoon here with the sun shining through a fair amount of thin Ci. Even had a good example of Cc for a while something I haven't seen for many a year. Temp 17C.
