Very dark to the south, impressive looking rain band.

Just starded to rain here, don't think we'll see any lightning here tonight. All seems to be heading N/NE. Still going to do an all nighter though just in case.

Even with a SE steering wind we still cant achieve storms down here! Somehow the East looks likely to grab all as usual.

CG!

Good man Mapantz.

Must be that time of year again. Sat in the garden in my pyjamas, looking south for that first flash on the horizon.

Edit... and there it is. Could be in tonight.

Massive flash of lightning and the longest rumble of thunder ever right here. Wow

Shame we can't have warm muggy nights like this for the whole summer, it's great being sat out in the garden this time of night and it's still very warm!

Here's hoping for some thunder and lightning later too.

This is nuts! I did think we stood a reasonable chance of a bit of elevated lightning, i didn't expect anything as nice as this.

I don't think it'll be long Andy. Have you got a decent view to the south?

I can hear Mapantz's thunder in the distance and can see the lightning kicking off. That'll slide west of here. What will hit us is still approaching the IOW.

Some very impressive lightning out there. ppn intensity picking up now as well. You can almost feel the energy.

Gunshot - holy expletive! It has been years since this has occurred here.

Would appear we are in a pretty good spot

lightning waning now, but that was just what the doctor ordered!

That was as it was arriving, it did get much better than that. I just couldn't film as the rain was driving in to the window and getting everything soaking wet.

Interesting to note, the ATD hasn't picked up many strikes at all around the area. The blitz app shows the direct overheads and many all around.

Looks like a general area of heavy rain on the way in a few hours possibly doesn't look thundery inland at the moment.
