Very typical warm sector conditions in this area with low Stratocumulus bringing slight drizzle to begin the day with it now breaking up to give warm sunny spells. Rather humid and breezy too.

Not liking the look of next Monday-Tuesday. Have a BBQ planned for Tuesday evening and really don't want cold/wet.

Meanwhile, warm and sunny is the order of the day here.

Are you serious Mike? Is it going to change that quickly and by so much?

Of all the weeks I do not want or need wet weather (for several reasons) it is next week!

I think Monday is supposed to be the worst day. I just don't want to go to all the effort of throwing a BBQ when we will have to eat inside (kind of defeats the object). Most recent run shows a westerly flow, pressure between 1015 and 1020 with 6-7 800hPa. I just hope the breeze won't be an issue as that scuppers everything. Today looks very innocent on the charts but the wind has really picked up against this afternoon.

Regarding early next week the Points West forecast showed what appears to be a frontal wave approaching from the West by late Sunday then the icon for Monday was heavy rain. Very often these features either run across Central Britain leaving this area cloudy but mostly dry or dive South into France, so at 4 days out there is a lot of scope for change.

Took this a little earlier today. Clearest parhelic circle I've seen in a long time!

That's beautiful.

Eh... really?

Tomorrow

Anyway, it's been a cracking few days. Shame that the sunshine doesn't look like it will make it through to the weekend.

It would be hilarious if those forecasts for tomorrow came off given last Friday's mostly dud plume event. However I think it's more likely to be scattered sharp showers with a chance of the odd flash/rumble as the front(s) break up and the sun appears in warm/humid air.

Damn annoying these blue skies won't last into the weekend for the airshow here, at least Sunday is looking better than tomorrow so the red arrows should get to perform a decent display on one day at least.

Today was going so well, but sadly it's clouded over... again! Back indoors getting on with things now.

It stayed sunny all day, here. Maxed out at 22.5°C.

June hasn't been too bad so far, not perfect though.

My average is running at 14.9°C

Wall to wall sunshine for the last 2 days here in Cornwall now. Stunning and warm with generally light breezes. Fantastic setting and conditions for enjoying tonights production at the Minack Theatre, Porthcurno. A must place to visit if you have not!

  • April 2024 - Was it that cold overall? A look at the statistics
