Models are not promising any heatwave or even prolonged periods of maximum average temperatures (21C) to start August. Good riddance to 'summer' 2015. Autumn has started early, but nowadays our only seasons appear to be Autumn and Spring.

Was hoping to try and go out for a bike ride today, but it looks like this wet weather has foiled my mission. Seems to have remembered it's a Sunday today.

Not particularly warm either with the temperature a touch below 14*C.

Weather rating: 3/10.

Max so far 12.2 °C. I may even have a shot at today being even colder than Friday! (Look, you take your enjoyment where you can get it in this weather...)

Yes TM, A cool day indeed with exactly the same temp here as the rain moved in which is currently moderate and the hills shrouded in cloud. And a low last night here of 5.8c.

Just been outside and it feels just like a miserable November's day, or even a mild and wet day winter's day. Temperatures at 12C - but actually feel like 10C. That makes it a whole 10C below average - a mid-summer 'cold snap', since if it were the opposite temperatures would be at 32C.

In a thrilling(ish) late push, the temp here has reached 13.4 °C, just 0.4 degrees off equalling Friday's "lowest max of the summer" title.

And you just know that it'll be warmer than this in the middle of November when everyone's started scouring the charts for signs of early snow...

Can clearly see my breath outside, that is just stupid in the last week of July.

2015 has given so far:

A polar low with hours of rain

A Cheshire Gap snow setup that turned to rain after an hour

A max of 15C on January 9th

A max of 13C on July 26th

A May that failed to reach 20C once

April with 220 hours of sun yet no max over 18C

A "record breaking heatwave" that just gave cloudy rubbish

No overhead thunderstorms.

And irritating NW or W winds on at least 75% of days

Oh and ONE warm, sunny day on June 30th.

14.1 °C. Oh well, today's bid for glory is over. And no, I do not want it to have another go later this week!

Got back from the food fair at RAF Cosford at about 15:30, and we decided to light the fire in the lounge!
