No rain here yet apart from this morning half hours worth of drizzle, looks like it's slowly edging this way though.

The ground needed this rain, as long as it warms back up again and we have a good August, I'll be happy.

There is a disgusting smell coming from outside that smells like rotting vegetables. I presume the farmer has put something on the fields.

Probably onions.

My car is getting its first wash for 10 months. :yahoo: Finally, some proper heavy rain for the garden and an accurate forecast from the beeb. :good::drinks:

Chucking it down with proper rain here, lovely! No God-awful drizzle for once. Can almost hear the plants and trees sighing with relief. Pretty crap temps tho! Only 15C here.

Interesting article about the windy weather this year. I know stainesbloke has been irritated by it, as have I.

How do you know that will be the case? the depression is slowly moving eastwards so I'd say anywhere from those red lines eastwards and as the LP moves east they'll be a 'wrap around' with further heavy rainfall.

Because the "wrap around" looks to be say London perhaps even more west.. it's called the "pivot point" as illustrated below as the low pulls east also look at the radar..

It is still plopping down nicely here. The temperature is still falling, it is now 13c, at this rate it will snowing by midnight. ;)

I'm on holiday in Deal at the moment and it has finally started.   Looking forward to a sample of some of the spectacular storms you can get down here.
