Beautiful sunset first thing this morning. Now just grey normality, feeling cooler than of late. Actually managed a minimum temperature in single digits last night!

Beautiful sunset first thing this morning.

Is that Brizzle speak for sunrise Mike? Lol !

Yes it was a gorgeous sky this morning and good to have a few hours with some hazy sunshine before the cloud took over. Good day for drying washing though with the strong wind and the fact it is actually dry for a change.

Really strange day so far. Not only the high humidity and warmth, but while 90% of the day has been dull with extensive Stratocumulus there have been 2 bright periods either side of half an hour of sharp showers which I assume were on a trough and show up very well on the radar. Presumably the trough mixing up the atmosphere for a brief period allowed the Stratocumulus to lift and break before it then reformed once the trough influence passed.

Cloudy and quite mild. Temp 13C and less wind than yesterday with 15mph from the SW. Still a fair bit of rain on the front as it edges north.

Answering my own question from yesterday with this photo!  Several blue skied intervals today with light showers, still mild at 15°C.

Not sure what is at play in the atmosphere but there is discrete convection here with TCu and Mammatus beneath the mid-high level cloud cover and several brief downpours in the last half hour.
