Interesting looking radar, some decent rain further north but rather a damp squib down here. Hoping for a traditionally autumnal blustery sunshine and showers day tomorrow.

Looking ahead towards the weekend with the gfs. It's quite a complicated set up in mid Atlantic with ex hurricane Kate merging with other lows and winging NE. Suffice it to say at the moment it looks like the main rain belt should pass to the north of us on Saturday before another front arrives late Sunday.

Torrential downpour number one moved through as I left for work, still spitting now. Looks like number two on the way. Squally winds too and feeling chilly. November at last!

Constant heavy showers here and it's currently absolutely belting it down with hail mixed in at times.

Well, to my absolute surprise, there were snow flurries here at about 1:30pm! Didn't even think it was that cold yet!

My Mum (who is at home in Yatton) texted me recently (I'm in north Bristol) saying they had a mammoth hail storm and a rumble of thunder not too long ago. Can see the cloud from here - it's massive and very ominous. Sadly, I don't think  anything is destined for north Bristol at the moment.

Wow  :yahoo:  :yahoo:  :yahoo:  :bomb:

Best day of 2015... sorry :D

It all stated of grey and dull and I lost hope in the warning all there was was drizzle.

It must've been at 1:30 the first cell rolled in brining strong gusts and a wind chill of 2.5.C

The rain was amazing and you could see the wind dragging along the roofs ; it threw the plastic bags out of the skip.

It drizzled for a bit and then perhaps the best part was at about 2:50 up until 5 mins ago a second cell hit where

the sky turned so dark cars had headlights on and there was a double rainbow with supernumerary bands(3 to be exact.)

The temperature dropped to 4.C and pea-sized hail rained for 5 mins with sideways rain and it's just ended.

As you can tell I'm excited because in this area we haven't had anything nearly as good since last year

and sorry for poor grammar.

Also I'm surprised there was no thunder...

I notice ther are hyperventilating over in the mod thread Bit odd really

UK Outlook for Saturday 28 Nov 2015 to Saturday 12 Dec 2015:

This period is likely to remain rather changeable with an increased risk, compared to average, of windy or stormy conditions. Frequent bands of rain are expected to move across the UK from the Atlantic, these interspersed by clearer, showery interludes and perhaps some drier spells, particularly in the south. Northwestern parts are most likely to see the heaviest and most persistent rain, as well as the strongest winds, but many parts of the UK may also see gales at times. Overnight frost is likely during clearer interludes. There are likely to be large day to day variations in the temperature, with milder, wetter spells interspersed with colder, showery or drier spells, although overall it should average out at slightly above normal for the time of year.

We'll hold you to that, Ian!!!!

We've had nothing of the weather that those to the north of us are describing.  A couple of light showers this morning, lots of sunshine, cooler this afternoon and clear skies shortly before sunset.
