Enjoy, Oh SW'ly folk, while it still shows in EC... because wayyyy out at T+240, much can and surely will change!

Ahh, good to see you again Fergie. You have probably been posting all through the year but I only tend to come on here during Winter :D

Any thoughts on why I saw snow flurries in Oxford at around 1:30pm today? I was on slightly elevated ground of 150m ASL but at 9c, I thought it was too mild to snow! The dew was around 1c though so that could explain it.

That was the weirdest part though. It was coming down like flurries being blown around by the wind. It wasn't hard like hail. unless it was soft graupel stuff being blown about.

Could well be. Almighty cold feel once the Squally showers passed through and very low dew points. Could easily have had evaporative cooling!

Yeah it felt really chilly this afternoon! What baffles me a bit, is that nobody else apart from us seems to have reported wintry stuff around Oxfordshire today. It didn't last long though, maybe it was a blink and you'll miss it affair.

Very localised. Radar shows that too.

Very gusty and overcast, but dry. Battery has died in my temperature sensor and we can't remove the sliding battery cover lol ! At a guess it's 14c (ish) !

Where's the West Country?

Ahh yes, there it is...... :(

Looks about right.

I've been working night's lately so have missed some "weather" recently but one event I did experience a couple of days ago was a rather potent hail shower with some large hailstones associates with it.

Must be the blocking effect of the Welsh hills/mountains.

We see it all too often in this region annoyingly this could quite easily happen but things can and will change for better or worse.

We do, the more westerly veer the wind the better really. I think a narrow segment of central England may see something as the further east one goes, the more marginal it will become as uppers will be higher there. At least we've got decent uppers in the west.

Yep I'm booking in again for the winter. Shame we have lost the beast of dartmoor these days though. Lots of uncertainties for the weekend more idea by Wednesday I reckon.
