Lovely morning out working and very Springlike in the sunshine, let's face it minima of 4c to 5c are not particularly wintry. We have simply swapped way above average for still above average, a fact highlighted by the current temp of 9.6c! Nature in it's flora and fauna forms is totally in Spring mode in this area.

Good to see distant CBs towards the South coast throughout the morning too.

I expect this thread will be picking up towards the latter part of next week as Thomas schafaknacker  just said cold weather coming down all the way from the Arctic .  Mentioned because of the time of the year snow will be coming down to northern parts and hills but not especially so .  Hinted that It could reach further south too....  So what's this space I guess .

Just seen I.F  briefly talking about his office control room , looks interesting.

It was a rather calm and quiet day, until the heavens opened at 3pm for 20 minutes, torrential rain from a cell which seemed to just come out of nowhere to the SW of Oxford, slow moving aswell.

Yet again, all the showers have gone round us.  It's been a mostly sunny day, felt cooler than recently.

While all the dummys have been thrown out the pram in the MO thread the 10 day weather on the BBC for my location has got it down to 4c for day time Temps next week with wintery showers. Certainly going to be a chill in the air!

Thankyou! personally I this next photo was probably my favourite looking shower of the day, it was an absolute beast! This was just before we went to Bembridge, this was Sandown Bay looking at the full Culver view which is my favourite place to be honest :D

Wow another beauty!  Only been to the IOW once five years ago, but loved Culver and the walks around there, plus the views.

Very local! Missed me!! Been a fairly pleasant day tbh. Cool, light winds and dry. Sunrise and sunset both had birds twittering. Lovely change from the showers and winds of late.

Cloudy but dry and the next belt of rain looks like reaching her about 1500. Temp 8,5C and wind NW 15mph.

The change to much colder weather from the middle of next week looks pretty much nailed on. A quick look at the GFS this morning for the end of next week although obviously the detail will change in the next few days.

In the interim it looks like it could be a wet weekend.

Now THAT's what you call winter in the south.

Look at the ensemble for Poole harbour for the period 12 - 20, it shows "Icy Rain"!
