Probably the worst regional news comic in the land. And its website is even more comical. Copy&Paste merchants.

To be fair that is severe for Bristol, they are not used to driving on a frosty road let alone a whole cm of snow.

I work in a school and we have just had a level 3 warning from the MET office.

Southeast England 90 % Turning colder with a few sleet and snow showers at

times but generally a good deal of dry weather. The

lowest temperatures across the region are expected

to occur over the weekend and into early next week.

London 90 % Turning colder with a few sleet and snow showers at

times but generally a good deal of dry weather. The

lowest temperatures are expected to occur over the

weekend and into early next week.

Southwest England 90 % Turning colder with the odd sleet and snow shower at

times but generally a good deal of dry weather.

Coldest across eastern parts of the region with

temperatures expected to be at their lowest

Another snippet

Turning much colder for all parts of England over the next few days. Spells of

sleet and snow that start the period will become increasingly confined to the

North Sea coast and hills, giving way to cold, crisp days and sharp overnight

frosts. Frosts may also be severe at times, particularly where there is lying snow.

As winds fall light there is an increasing risk of freezing fog patches forming

overnight. Locally where freezing fog lingers temperatures may stay sub-zero all

day. Cold weather currently looks set to last into early next week. At this stage, it

appears that the weather may then turn less cold during the middle of next week.

At about 9.30 this morning I saw snow, it wasn't an hallucination, I was stone cold sober and awash with caffeine so definitely wide awake. Floaty, sparkly flakes falling for almost ten minutes. I was on my way to work, as soon as I dropped down off the Mendips it turned to sleet, then rain. I know it's not a lot to shout about but it shows promise for later maybe. Gritter lorries are out and about around here, passed the salt depot on the way home, looks like they've got every lorry in Somerset queueing up to get in - over reaction or standby drivers fed up with no work so far this winter?

Just a word of caution for those of us in Bristol/Bath/East Somerset and Wiltshire ; these showers coming from the NW will be affected by the Welsh mountains which very often cause precipitation to break up and decay. So if you see a large area of snow across Wales heading this way tonight do not be surprised if it breaks up and do not throw your toys out of the pram if that occurs!

Meanwhile, proper winter late afternoon with clear sky and temperature plummeting towards an early frost.

It's unbelievable given the timeframes we are talking about here. +72 and they are polar opposites. Someone is going to have egg on their face, and I'm not going to stick my neck out for either of them.

Well whoever loses it will go down in the annals of history plus no one will believe the loser when it comes to blocks for years!

Totally clear skies as make way home on bus up the M32.

It'll be a cold one tonite.

Chance of snow tonite? Doesnt seem to be much in way of precip showing up on radar. That stuff over N Ireland doesnt seem to have shifted v far this afternoon.

They'll trundle in tonight/early hours tomorrow, courtesy of a trough. It'll be quite hit & miss, but they will arrive. :)
