Confused definately , not a clue , any idea what Steve Murr meant Karlos ??

I've been so tempted to reply in the mod thread about that, so many people seemed to have completely  missed the wink in his post and they all thought he meant it was a bad chart!

Haven't been in the MOD thread yet.

If there are 2 synoptic models showing 2 different medium range outlooks then I don't think I will bother.  It will just be a battle of each "models" supporters.

I'm just enjoy the here and now cold spell.  Yes, I would prefer some snow but with the way this winter has gone so far, I'll take the second best cold, frosty & crisp outcome.

Snow can pop up at very short notice, although we would need air pressure to drop somewhat as PPN is unlikely with strong heights as per this weekend.

Dear Me it is awful in the MOD thread.

We are seeing unprecedented global weather patterns and set ups at the moment namely Alex  for one and for people to expect the models to get it spot on is frankly stupid. I wish people would understand that the models are there to help our understanding of what might happen not the be all and end all.

Right sorry rant over but they do make me cross having to scroll through all the dross to get to the few posts that are really good, informative and realistic.

Hope we manage to get to see something come out of Wales tonight/tomorrow AM but am slightly cautious as these types of set up normally fizzle out before they get over the Severn. I'm hoping they have the energy to make it to us all so fingers and toes crossed!:friends:

Currently 3.2 and going down rapidly and a dew point of -3.0

Where are all these showers they are on about? Come on!

Who's they WG? The latest Euro4 suggests you might have wait until closer to midnight.

They also suggest that I might as well get an early night and not bother staring at the radar all night.

Bizarrely, someone yesterday or today on a thread even suggested the tropical feature 'wasn't a key player'.

Thanks Ian.

I've just managed to choke on my coffee from laughing after reading that. Missed that one!

I'm fascinated on how this will effect our weather and the patterns in the N Pole. Interesting times ahead over the next few weeks. If challenging for you and your colleagues at UKMO

Just going out for a gaze to see what is about. Might be lucky with satellites and a few shooting stars.  Kindle 10 will show me the positions.

Well, if that comes out correct I'll be going up to a nearby hill at 250 m asl as long as it's before 11 pm ish.

A beautiful crisp 1.7c out there, I'm afraid I'm now getting excited.. I can't help it! I know tonight is probably a damp squib for me, but I love the thrill of the chase :pardon:

Bizarrely, someone yesterday or today on a thread even suggested the tropical feature 'wasn't a key player'. It's THE key fly in ointment. Pump tropical moisture north via a very rare January hurricane/tropical storm into our wintry latitudes and then just sit and watch the models go beserk. Latest UKMO-GM just one potential outcome of many (albeit looking a very interesting one for the snow lovers, at some point).

I was only thinking earlier, if there was a possibility of a collision between the Storm and our cold air. Perhaps the Express will have their snowbomb after all !!
