Confidence only moderate positionally. Same story as yesterday. Latest output v similar: Wales down across various parts of W Country tonight. Detail unreliable so anything could happen from Cotswolds to B&NES to Mendips to Exmoor... you get the picture!

Thanks for update Ian , Iv noticed it looks quite potent across Northern Ireland , I hope it will keep its intensity , I guess it's one that could be a now cast event?

Re next week , I absolutely agree this is a complete mess , with all models shown different outcomes , which is all I was trying to point out in the mad thread lol , it's just a bit painful to read at 7am when the first thing I read is "downgrade downgrade" but it's actually just based on one run !

Think it's best to wait until the models have a grip of the tropical storm ,

at least things look a lot more interesting than what they did 4 weeks ago .

Like to see Fergieweather.. gets Mentioned on The Weather Outlook  in  Model Output...

Here  in  Peasedown St john we had  frost and slippery patches in places. Low of 1.5c.  The lowest this month . Now sunny  but cloud is building up,  Should be crisp and clear for star gazing tonight on the patio.  Wind Chill is 1.7c.  Apparent 0.4c.   Breeze WNW   17 - 23 km/h.  . Might  be able to do some lamp post watching  Early morning...

I went to have a look..... managed three pages, only thing it accomplished was filling my head with images of the spinning headed girl in the Exorcist.

I think what they're all saying is it's cold, it's going to get a bit colder too, it may or may not get a bit warmer next week but if it does it's because there's wet stuff coming in from the west. If the wet stuff comes in and bangs up against the cold, we might get a bit of snow but if the cold gives up and clears off back to it's usual winter home over the continent, it'll be clear wet stuff, rather than opaque.

To be honest, if that's what happens and we get one snowy day, well lets face it, that's pretty good for lots of areas down here. Most other parts of the country get lots of opportunities for snow, we don't. Fingers crossed the cold holds out long enough against the encroaching wet to get something down here.

I'm still laughing at your head swivelling the exorcist style

A bit premature to be looking at detail but probably not in the far south west, excluding Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor, but further east I would have possibilities I would have thought. But this is so marginal in many respects caution is advised.

Like always, marginal... but hopefully at the very least some of us will see snow falling in the heavier bursts.

Just waiting for the dreaded "Snow north of the M4 only" - It's inevitable

So this would be what Ian alluded to the other day in the points west forecast.

So conditions are right just need the ppn to get its act together. Looks like we are both at the extremes you to the east and me to the west.

It's been a while, good to see!

Am I right in saying that this front will stall? If so, wouldn't that put some of us in the prime position? The NW of our region is looking pretty good is it not?

Edit: Didn't realise that warning was for tonight, thought it was for Monday.

Warning stops many miles west of my front door, but to be honest I'd be happy for the wind to die down and some crisp cold weather. Not too cold, though, or I'll be perusing the MOD thread and getting excited and ramped up about an upcoming warm spell :D

Fear not these features and shift to the east or west or fizzle out to nothing. Nowcasting situation!
