Dry and sunny start to the day here with no lying snow apart from the slightest of coverings at about 1500ft.

it is cold though, 1c at the moment but it won't take long for the strong sunshine to add a bit of warmth to the air.

a lovely morning for getting out and about.

Chilly start here with plenty of sunshine, currently 1.4°C, it won't take too long for the sun to work it's magic raising the temps.

Somehow I was following this thread but it got turned off, not by me, so i've got loads of posts to catch up on.

Hardly any rain yesterday and a min overnight of 2.7c. Still only around 7.

Chilly day for the time of year with a max so far of 7.3°C and a cool N/NW breeze. Quite a few showers developing on the radar moving down from Scotland.

Lovely crisp day so far, plenty of sunny spells, but cold under a very chilly north wind, the sun isn't doing much to temper the cold feel of things. Snow on the Howgills but nothing over the Lake District - odd how the front broke into pieces as it hit our region but stayed intact to our east, this can occur when we see frontal attacks from the north.

We've just had the lightest of hail showers with some soft snowflakes..

Sparkling clarity to the air, superb for photography and distant views. The fells look splendid today. A very cold night for April ahead, widespread air frost for much of Cumbria, Shap might go down as low as -5 tonight.. making it one of the coldest nights of the year..

It's turning out to be a more pleasant day than the forecast suggested for the Peaks today, warm April sunshine with only subtle hints of convection and the snow showers that were meant to be falling here never arrived. By sunrise the snow-line only made it as far south as the Saddleworth Moors with not even a cm covering, for a hour overnight the Cat and Fiddle was reporting snow falling but nothing stuck around to make it to daylight.

Decent conditions for much of the day with pleasant sunshine and the showers staying further west than ourselves.

Then our luck ran out and the last hour or so has brought sleety showers with them turning to snow at times and we've just had a rumble of thunder.

current temperature is 3c

A bit of snow settling around the Goyt Valley this late afternoon, NWRadar showing a few lightning strikes out across the Hope Valley and towards Bakewell.

Quite a fun day in Hebden Bridge today. It was sunny but chilly for most of the day and I went trekking on the hills around the town. There were a few showers in the distance but nothing major until about 5pm when hail and snow showers led to the hills to turn white.

Then back to Manchester where it was sunny and boring. So pleased to experience wintriness in the second half of April! :D

A lovely start to the day with hardly a cloud in the sky so after a very frosty start, it should feel very pleasant by afternoon.

Up early for the Chinese GP - sharp frost overnight.  The sun quickly burning it all away, and should be a good say for getting outdoors.

Looks like a Tail of two seasons this week.

the week starts good with HP settling in and temperatures responding nicely in the Sun,From Thursday things look like going down hill, with HP Parking itself

To our NW Allowing a cold N/NE airflow to set in.Infact by Sunday according to this morning charts the Upper air Temperatures could be as low as -9c:cold:

Which for late April is quite remarkable,Obviuosly to early for details but high ground especially could see quite a bit of snow.

Not a fan of snow this late.but i am quite facinated as to how this plays out.

C.S

Edit

Just read the METO extended forecast looks like winter is to return, with a cold airflow established into the first week of May

Everything mentioned Rain/snow and overnight Frosts, probably the most wintry outlook I have read in the last 4 Months

What the hell is wrong with our seasons when we always seem to have to wait until spring for winter conditions and autumn for summer ones.

Sorry, rant over  :wallbash:

Cloudy breezy and a bit damp this morning, just a blip though as the fine weather will be back later and last much of the week :)

I am really hoping for a nice weekend, up in the Lakes walking, don't mind it being cool, but don't want wind, rain or snow!
