Does that mean all ligue 1 games are behind closed doors until end of season?

The ban includes demonstrations & competitions the latter should include football?

Normally if there’s a new case or first case it gets reported by local papers .

So that’s probably where to look but so far we’ve both been a bit lucky especially when you consider what’s going on further north and east.

Yes, local paper reported Correze case yesterday. Nothing new tonight but they're pretty "sleepy" on Sundays!

Wouldn't be shocked if we follow suit in the next few days here, I think it maybe more towards the end of the week, but since there is a COBRA meeting tomorrow, they may well try and keep ahead of it.

Thank goodness the virus can't spread in events with 999 people

By coming in here all the time you are just filling yourself with a mix of harsh facts and worry-induced fiction. I mean, all of sudden, anyone in here who had a cough this Winter are deciding they might have had COVID -19.

That would mean some nightclubs wouldn't be able to open if it happened in UK - Cream at nation in Liverpool was a 3000 capacity club event running every saturday in the 90's.

If they’d have done that earlier then that religious festival in Alsace wouldn’t have gone ahead which is now spreading cases all over France .

IMO too little too late !

Yes I thought that - I had a very mild cold at Christmas which had similar symptoms to what could be a lesser strain?

Several people in here, myself included have reported the same.

mine was pretty brutal. Dry hacking cough, body aches, fatigue, fever and I spent a day or so struggling to breathe.

Sounds like you had it to be honest.

Either you put harsh bans regarding gatherings in or you don’t .

This stupid approach by Macron is just kicking the can down the road .

Sheffield has got it's own bubble no cases here so far. Perhaps we should have road blocks and divert people around us......

Would be peace of mind if I knew I had already had it and it would mean I could focus on protecting vulnerable people.

There is a theory it’s been circulating in the UK since before Christmas and one virologist I read thinks it started in China in at least October.

That damned religious festival seems to be responsible for so many cases. Did anything similar happen in Italy - maybe we'll never know? Didn't they ban 5000+ gatherings after the initial case clusters following the festival? Too late, but how were they to know? All of this entrains a catalogue of understandable reactivity and that's just what the virus needs to spread. How crap on a Sunday night - back to the dogs...

Yes it was notable. Notable for the lack of mucus and the sheer fact that the dry cough would physically make you heave and gag. There were a couple of mornings at it's peak where I was gasping for air whilst coughing, each breath I took was making me dry cough more. As I said, I wouldn't be surprised if the lesser strain has been around for some time and attributed to a random seasonal virus.

But it might have weakened your lungs so if you got a mutated version it wouldn't necessarily mean you are immune, can you not seek a test or something to see whether you had it or not, even if you did though, iwouldn't be going round willy nilly to be honest.

I find it difficult to believe that it was not picked up by the medical profession if it was circulating widely well before what is considered to be the current outbreak. Where did it come from? uk?

That's the one. Started with me Boxing day and reached a peak a few days later.

No real snotty nose, no blocked nose/sinuses just an onset of a tightening chest and dry cough.

Exactly, we'd be seeing thousands of cases by now if people were catching it that long ago.

Think you've had a different virus with similar symptoms, there are plenty of things around.

The UK epidemic is only just getting going.
