I'll be topping my up sometime this weekend unless I'm lucky. You can tell it's dry when even the weeds are struggling.

Tomorrow and Monday are the best chance for Yorkshire to see anything of substance however it's worth noting for West and South Yorkshire that if anything comes of it, our risk tonight will be highest in the evening and the main forcing is moving through the north west.

Storms now removed for both days now no surprise there. First weak convection going on right now triggered by 29.2C of heat which to me shows getting another 38C this year at some point isn't that far fetched unfortunately.

Well a beautiful day in Bridlington today and upto 18c .

Still a fair easterly wind blowing !

Meanwhile Blackpool has hit 30c on the opposite side !

Still feeling cold here in the shade but standard practice in this set up here.

When will the westerlies return ?

Well watering the garden and topping the main pond. Looks like a dry weekend for us again and unpleasantly hot.

Temps peaked at 30.2C according to the Davis now a cool 27.3C. Tomorrow another dry scorcher so may pass 30C again.

Interestingly the temp is falling as fast as it rose which is good.

Rumbling in the distance earlier, from a storm heading over Manchester and the peaks

we've now got rumbling coming from the Sheffield direction. so we could get a storm after all

The energy is slowly unzipping further north against the Pennines. If we get anything, it will be in the next hour or two.

Reports south of Huddersfield appreciated.

Penistone shield ruins it again

the storm has petered out right as it got to us!

It's the gap in the Pennines, notice how the orientation changes as it lunges west.

It should generate some more energy once it rubs up again.

Well naf all storms as expected here this weekend. Forecast and TV graphics looked great but just a reminder to ignore it all.

Horrible hot days with zero reward. Glad temps look a little lower after tomorrow and hope nights stay cooler going forward

Another scorcher on the way and a small risk of a storm. Expecting around 30C slightly cooler after today but still hot.

A definite change in the look of the weather today at the coast. Still a ground level vaugely easterly flow with cloud level flow looking more like S, but the cloudless skys of the last few days are replaced with more cloud, and signs of instability, with cumulus in evidence. The warmest day of the year so far here with temperatures already at 20c. We will see what lunchtime ride brings.

Stunning day in Bridlington and how it should be really but once again the easterly breeze (or wine) will be back this week keeping it cooler than it should be .

Stunning sunshine to come for sure , but not a heatwave .

Have a great week people and enjoy the sunshine 😎

Lunchtime produced light winds, E force 3, sunshine and temps of about 20c. Overall the breeze has kept temperatures in the acceptable range. There was some signs of instability but sky has now cleared. Overall quite pleasant. Hopefully the hot weather wont encroach any further.

Another horrid hot day and plenty more to come this week. Looks like we will make a month without rainfall as well. A storm looks set to pass just to south of me so I'll be able to wave as it passes.
