White Christmas much lower down had a few flakes at lunchtime. Had turned back to rain later in the afternoon though.

Yeah I have seen and heard there was snow in Dronfield near my family.

But right at the very top of Ringinglow Road there is a slushy covering at top of Ox Stones.

No warning showing for here and what warnings are to the west of Sheffield so more West Yorkshire which figures as that's where the higher ground is. I think you've got a cached copy from earlier. The forecast has me lower down from where I live so not showing sleet just rain.

No warning now so must have been removed fairly quickly. Still a big ask for tonight though most likely rain or sleet if anything reaches us that is.

Sorry I was looking on the BBC weather app. Still on there

Not a problemo I think I was coming across a bit harsh.

My thoughts for Sheffield and Rotherham here

The local five day weather forecast for Sheffield South Yorkshire. This derived from the GFS, ECMF and the Met Office.

Dry as a bone out tonight, chilly breeze, will the snow pixies pay a visit! Probably not ⛄

Final update

This will fall as heavy and disruptive snow >200m for the West Yorkshire area, north of Sheffield. 5-15cms possible at altitides above 300m.

I expect a mixture of rain & snow, north of Sheffield above 50-125m producing scattered accumulations of 2-8cm

South of Sheffield heights of 325m+ required otherwise rain / sleet

Thank you Kasim. It looks like here in North Yorkshire we'll miss the main ppn to our west.

Nowt for us bloody easterners! It will be too mild as the SE wind off the North Sea will mix out the colder quicker.

Looking good for those in the North and West of the region, especially with elevation.

Perhaps some lower areas may lucky as Kasim suggests.

Edit: Perhaps if you head A166 past Fridaythorpe to Garrowby there might be some white stuff temporarily.

Driving from Saddleworth to Leeds first thing tomorrow morning so may encounter some difficult conditions .

Looking at the models and Met Office app I am reasonably confident of a covering at home .  But models like theEuro4 just show such a defined west to east split when in reality the valleys further west will see less snow than hilltops further east.

Met Office forecast is showing numerous hours of heavy snow for Harrogate and you are higher up so il be surprised if you don't see some snow for a time.

Yeah I mainly concentrated on further south in the update. North Yorkshire at elevation will do fine.

Think I'm heading to North Yorkshires highest village in morning. Greenhow Hill, not far from Harrogate at 400m asl.

There's a camera on the councils website at Greenhow that sits at 397m and updates every 10 minutes for anyone who wants to see what the weather is doing here.

Starting off at home and if it turns sleety here I'll probs head up to Queensbury. Would be nice to see 15cm cover. Got 4x4 etc.

Regardless of the rest of the winter, have to say 2021 has been a snowy year, although we have got some luck especially at the start of January

A cold wet day in Evesham , wind makes it feel below zero, so yes very seasonal , much colder than the models forecast....☺
