Looking at the NI traffic cameras and i cannot see any laying snow on any of them. Just one actually showing snow/sleet falling.

I’ve never been particularly confident over this event today, possibly due to my location, however it’s still the warmest part of the day so still a chance of significant snow for those in Down Armagh and Louth, don’t give up yet

It's my own fault for getting my hopes up. I made the school boy error of assuming this means snow on the ground, it only means falling snow. The temperature is actually going up here. As you say, maybe sun down will lower the freezing level.

Heavy enough rain here now, no sign of any flakes. Met Eireann have an Orange warning kicking in from tonight, so maybe then!

Bone dry here but very cold. No precipitation of any description, which I’d rather have than sleet or rain.

Looking at this system, happy for it to miss me now, since it’s looking like sleet rain mostly anyway. If this was summer and I had a BBQ setup for today, I’d bet my bottom dollar it wouldn’t miss! 😂

Absolute crap.

Having followed this for over a week, there was no indication that this would be a sleet/rain fest. Not even trying to snow properly.

Benbradagh mountain has disappeared behind clouds so I guess its getting something. Been under snow on the radar for hours and there's not much precipitation to speak of here at all. Ground a bit damp.

So frustrating as you can watch their “heavy rain/flood” warnings count down almost to the minute. 100% accurate rain warnings 😂

Don't know if it will be worth the amber but think there will be a chance for someone as it cuts back round and gets colder  ....hopefully ...for anybody I'm at this stage

Just checked every traffic camera again across Norn Iron. Not one showing snowfall, not one.

Any nice cars though 🙂

Haha I think you need to have a stiff drink 🍹

Meanwhile my view of the hills has disappeared and the wind is getting up so I guess something is on the way…

Sleet here now but the temperature has dropped from 3 to 2 to degrees so will see what happens after dark.
