To be fair, every met office forecast for the last 24 hours has showed us as sleet turning to snow as darkness falls.

Not what I have seen. No indication of sleet at all.

Thought I seen a really big flake going past the window there but it was an empty crisp packet. Darn!

Still rain here, hasn't stopped all day... Oh if that was only 2 degrees colder or so! Wind really picking up now in the last few minutes. I'm working tonight so hopefully we get to throw a few snowballs at each other after dark!

this is Carrick, the land of sleet. 😄

Carrick is at seal level.

If it's not snowing at 500 feet in Carryduff, Carrick has no chance!

Gosh I haven't been in this forum since they changed to the groups format. I didn't have a clue how to reply lol!

Snowing heavy in Mallusk, Glengormley. Lying here! Been raining/sleeting most of the day but it's started to lie ... and lie well ... in the last hour

About 3 it was trying to snow with a few tiny flakes constantly in the air. As it got heavier it's turned to rain but its getting a bit sleetier now.

I never held out much hope for my location for this spell anyway. Too North and not enough elevation. I have seen some falling snow and a dusting.

Turned to snow now. Small flakes. Ground is wet but sticking to cars, grass and fencing.

Nice and heavy here now...always interesting to note the difference in snow type in easterly v North Westerly airflows. Much finer, drier snow from the continental wind direction compared to thick, wet NW snow off the Atlantic.

I can't tell if it's snow or sleet that's falling 🤣 but it's coming down sideways whatever it is.

Just starting to show on the grass here , just in time for the ppn to disappear soon 🙂

Edit: actually looking at the sat24 snap shots the cloud seems to be still moving in  northerly direction ....,,🤔
