Another miserable Saturday although the rain isn't as bad today as last week so didn't get drenched on my walk this time. Forecast for the week ahead doesn't look very inspiring either

I can’t ever remember seeing a set up over Europe where the temperature gradient from south to north was so

massive.

It’s like the Mediterranean has got greedy and stolen our summer.

Cheers I’m not sure I’d be able to expand to catering…. If a couple of my chef friends were nearer I’d recommend them to you.
Dull grey damp morning again… much like the Beginning of next week if forecast to be believed…

Second morning on the trot soaked cycling to work when apps/ text says dry.

Poor.

Looking at the radar it should be clearing through now but it’s been a poor start to the day.

On a brighter note, at least I managed to get a bit of help in to cut the grass while it’s a bit wet to mow.

What comes out the other end certainly isn’t artificial

think it’s time I got some gates or the local farmers got some better walls

Is this not sometimes the case, given the positioning of the jet stream at any one time? I wonder whether Southern Europe had quite the same 'scorchers' we had in years such as 1976, 1990, 1995 and 2003.

A brighter day today despite the cloud cover (still), and odd glimpses of the sun make it feel warmer than yesterday.

The metoffice text forecast definitely way off the mark for here today. Absolutely chucking it down right now with more to come judging by the radar.

I seem to remember Simon King saying it was a tricky weekend to forecast.

Yes not been a good day. And certainly a cool feel to things going forward. Personally I'm looking forward to this winter. Coming out of the solar minimum often bodes well. Last winter reminded me of 08/09 only that last winter didn't have a good snow event here but we had a cracker of an easterly in early Feb 09 which the west of the region missed out on.

I'm heading across the Pennines again tomorrow, and I'm quite glad I am, with the added protection in the North East from the prevailing North Westerlies this week. The Country File forecast this evening suggested that what we've had in the NW this weekend is set to last until I return on Friday.

Found this. Apparently happened in 1957, maybe happened between now and then.

Well the forecast this week is pants.

Looks like two maidens in distress under the weight of non dryer clothes.

Would you believe it, the sun just came out and tried tempting me to put said clothes on washing line.

What a P155 take.

A few more cool days coming up once again. I think it's probably safe to say the best of summer is behind us now. Noticing the evenings drawing in now as well. I start to notice the leaves beginning to change towards the end of September then start to slowly fall off throughout October. I love a walk in the woods on top of the crunchy leaves.

Morning! As Peter Kay would say - That horrible drizzly stuff that soaks you through here.

A good read if anyone is interested, maybe Winters will get colder again after all.

United States and Europe are strongly influenced by Gulf Stream, which is approaching a collapse, based on the latest data and new studies

Must admit, I like snow and frosty mornings but given the rock and hard place scenario the family is in, dry and mild would save me using the dryer and heating the house.

As I've said to my MP, does any one take the fact that up North, more energy is used due to cooler and wetter climate hence more poverty.

I don't think there's enough expletives to describe today with this incessant drizzly rain and I think I was the only person still wearing shorts whilst in Oldham town centre today haha. I just don't like wearing trousers until October I get too warm. Plenty of people in winter coats today. Not surprising really.
