The 18z initialised about 70 miles west of the real location of the low too, would bring the east Midlands back into play for later in the night if it continues to be that wrong

Yup seen that 15 mins ago!!you would think it has fresh data fed into it but dont look like it!!i mean the forecast of that low LOOKS way out!!

Coming down quite heavy aswell. That low seems to have more PPN than forecast. If the temps play ball the mids could well get a few centimetres.

Sticking to the grass. Feel we will need a blizzard for it to stick to the pavements and roads wich are soaked. Nice to see even before Winter has even started.

Snowing in South Birmingham.

How are places lower down getting snow and I’m stuck with rain? Even areas further east in the milder air

Sleet here atm with gusty winds, heard a piece of slate fall from the roof.

Heavy snow and settling at the winking man.

Just turned back to sleet here Matt. Seems evaporative cooling in heavy PPN is why it's so hit and miss at present

2 miles from me. If I don’t see a decent fall, a morning walk might be in order.

What is the elevation difference between your location and there?

About 50m. They often see more snow than I do. Fortunately, they have a lovely country park (Park Hall Country Park) which is great for a winter walk.

Temperature 1.2C here now, right on the cusp. Oscillating between snow and sleet.

Still, it is November! Reminds me of a November school day in 1971 or so.

Well the low pressure might be East of the models, but the rain isn't. Looks like the band is heading to Northwest England and Wales, needs to start tilting SE.
