5c and sunny this afternoon. Maybe some wintry stuff around this evening and tomorrow morning before the milder stuff arrives.

Ecm has the snow so far west most of the region including the west mids hardly get anything at all lol!!!matt stoke may get lucky though!!still think it will be down to radar watch as ecm and gfs both dont agree at this very short time frame!!

This is probably the best setup for Matt Stoke, unlike sliders which is probably mine, my area is lower so not expecting to do as well as Stoke, unlike Jan 24th this year

Aye. Stoke’s elevation is often key in these setups. We’ll see if it’s quite enough this time, assuming the precipitation reaches here!

If all the precip from 2200 is on this track then surely some could get 10-12 hours of solid snow !! Especially over 500 feet or so, I think it’s being underestimated. The track shown on the met office forecast has some places under snow for ages!!

reckon that's only going to be hills, Buxton area (sigh) could well have over 30cms snow, where low levels say less than 150m just sleet/wet snow or maybe even mostly rain, mild sector looks to be affecting east of the region too

Well it's snowing in Whitley Bay on the NE coast so we must be able to get something inland and with elevation.

That, and associated lower dew points AND the precipitation isn't heavy enough.

A Facebook friend has put up a video of snow falling in Clun, Shropshire. Says it’s settling on Knighton Road.

Snowing in Ellesmere near Whitchurch too.

I think its too early to expect anything wintry for most of Mids, later or tomorrow maybe..   True that the fun for most is still watching those lamp posts etc..

Bypasses Birmingham. Mind you, I don't blame it.
