Well I wasn't expecting much being so far to the east of the warning but I'll take it. Looks like a bit more to come yet judging from the radar too. Almost looks like the much rarer Clyde - Forth streamer

Ehh we've had a good few inches of snow, missed the heaviest falling because I needed sleep. Unexpected but amazing

Couple of inches here in Irvine..v surprised as the earlier snow was wiped out by rain....prob going to be very treacherous. Still snowing

Very heavy snow this last pulse has dropped a good two inches hard to say overall Maby 4/5 inches . Can the streamer keep going ?

Around 5-5.5cm which is pretty impressive considering the Met office expected 1-3cm above 200m.

Great to see so many have a surprise snow fall, and decent amounts lying too. Just very cold here, currently -6.2C, which is only slightly above the current overnight low. Could it be an ice day?

Well the warning for 1 - 3 cm over 200m was a tad wrong, and the warning area was far too small. Shows how difficult it is to forecast snow. Still, a pretty big mess from met office. 

We have a couple of cm here in Ayr, missed most of the heaviest stuff which went just north of here to Irvine/kilwinning area which have more than double. Still though, lying snow in December here is almost unheard of

Snow shield still almost fully intact here. Must have caught a flurry at some point but when you can identify individual frozen flakes you know it didn't last long

Nice surprise to wake up to since we had no warning. Daughter got stuck as the car in front stopped so hubby now driving her to work. Picture to show the prettiness.

Irvine had 10cm of snow.... thats when you ******* know..... winter 23/24 get yourself to

 

lovely to see all the photos of fantastic snow as  I get ready to spend a day of cleaning the house and putting up the Christmas decorations... has really lifted the mood to have such joy for others.... 

 

my only consolation is 101 has nothing.... that satisfies my schadenfreude needs  

If someone could also post all these pictures in the model thread that would be great

Had to leave early doors so don’t have pics but was a lovely snowy start to the day. Been a bit more since this photo was taken, about 3cm.
