Did get a decent lightning display and constant thunder but missed the core of the action.

The main core that rose earlier for Birmingham & Black Country was home grown, GUESS where…. YES in my back yard, all I had was one flash and a couple of bangs and that was it and has it left me and headed for Birmingham central it exploded  😤….so I know how you feel …..Very Frustrating…..But that’s Mother Nature Matt 😉

A really poor show here today considering the warnings. Oh well, at least the rest of the week looks to be sunny and warm.

My pint is always half full……a great positive from you

How rare is it to see a week like this in the forecast,

It’s sun and more sun all the way 🥰

Just missed out here again today. Some rain and 3 or 4 flashes, lots of distant rumbling, but the exciting stuff is always 4-5 miles away. Surprised that the sky is now clearing from the North & East.

I've decided I don't like MSCs, The life gets sucked out of most of it. Much prefer more discrete storms that hold togethther and don't collapse and die, only to fire up again once they've passed you!

Well so it proved for birmingham at least, a far less active evening than yesterday. Still some nice interest for other areas though including that amazing cell that developed through Sandwell in towards Wolverhampton. A few flashes here but very little precip today; but glad others got a nice event

Here 5 miles N of Shrewsbury we got sod all once again. 5 minutes of rain around 2000 after hearing thunder off to the NW about 1830, and saw a flash to the south about 2030. Probably had about 1-2mm of rain at most here in the 3 days, and nothing near a direct hit from a storm (6-7 miles in every direction).

A few light showers here this morning but barely enough to damp the slabs. It's certainly much cloudier than the Met Office forecast suggested yesterday although, looking at the Net Weather satellite image, it looks as though sunny spells are about an hour away to the south.

Some really potent storms in the Central/North Midlands today.

Meanwhile, in the South Midlands...

Wow what an incredible deluge here on the Malverns. Not sure when I last saw such heavy rain. Some T&L with it, too.

A few loud close strikes cloud to ground early on, one made the birds fly out the trees it was that loud!

Current radar, dry to most but maybe somthing from the south inbound?

A fun day once again of weather and amazing cloudscapes. A few rumbles but didn’t see any fork lightning here just a few miles from the cricket. Heavy rain here once more!

A nice 20mms of rain from todays storms and thundery showers.

Beautiful for the garden, but the road outside flooded and the England team lost 2 wickets just 5 miles away.

I’d say there was a bit more than that here still! Need a weather station to keep tabs on it all but certainly seemed to be quite a lot here! Would be interesting to see what Arnie Pie recorded and those in south Bham
