Hi all, first post. 🙂 Looking forward to chatting with you all as we go into my favourite time of year.  My first winter living on the edge of the Peak District too so I am excited to see what it brings.  For now though enjoying the relief from the recent heat 🥵

Welcome to the forum TW. No matter how niche your weather preferences might be you'll find like minded people on here and the amount of weather information in the way of charts etc is second to none. Enjoy!

Looks like the majority of the rain will miss us again today.  The desert zone of middle England remains dry as a bone, even with yesterday's drizzle 😞

We managed 1 hour of reasonably heavy rain, not torrential by any means. Now dry again.

Up to the end of yesterday we need a little over 13 hours of bright sunshine here to make this the sunniest August since 1995. Just about do-able although the Met office forecast is talking about quite a bit of cloud over the next few days as the NE breeze picks up slightly and brings low cloud in from the North Sea.

164.5 hrs recorded so far this month and 2003 recorded 177.6 hrs.

The first thunder this year here with a couple of rumbles associated with a heavy shower at 1535-1555 g.m.t.

There’s a very good chance some of us will see more of that this forthcoming week, also in the early hours later, some decent rainfall is forecasted...my garden needs it 🤞

No thunder all year and then two consecutive days with thunder! The storm passed through between 1.45 and 2.15 b.s.t but it looked as though the centre of it was a few miles east of here.

We  had torrential rain with a few flashes of lightening and rumbles of thunder sometime between 1-2 am.  It only lasted 20 mins or so at the most before moving away.

It has been hammering down here in W Malvern - full on thunder and lightning at the moment. Been awhile since we've had that.
