I'm not sure if it's rained at all today in Kettering area. I was away for most of the day. Driving back along the M42 and M6, I drove through some decent rain, but it doesn't look like there's been any at home. If anyone in North Northamptonshire on here has some rainfall figures for the past month or so, I'd love to see them .

Rain just sitting there in a band and not moving. Dismissed as insignificant with 1 line on the BBC lunchtime forecast. The are going to be some very substantial totals.......if it ever stops!

We have the opposite problem, the rain never get here in the first place.  We've had no meaningful rain for over 2 months now

Always the way, we had downpours a couple of weeks ago, so there was no great need for rain anyway.

A warm and humid day with intermittent drizzle and light rain which amounted to just 0.5 mm during the day. I was up near Buxton for most of the day and it was pouring down up there. That was reflected in the rainfall total at Brierlow Bar which had recorded 17mm by late afternoon.

Same here C Happiness...

Had about 10 mins of drizzle at 11:00, since then mainly cloudy and breezy.

It does however feel quite muggy whenever I go out and try some gardening...

Getting desperate for rain now.

Thanks for the news.

Its about the 3rd chance for us here, but it always seems to drift to the NE,

It has gone dull though just atm.. So I can hope

Just had a phone call to Chester and they had to cancel golf this afternoon due to  the very heavy showers this afternoon. They had heavy rain on Friday also.

I notice that Headingly cricket was cancelled at lunchtime as it rained all afternoon. So no play was possible.

My veg are now withering and the lawn.....

No Probem. The weak front currently looks buckled, from a line Tenbury Wells up to Codsall

Its the rain shield for the mids! My incomming expecatancy was a few drops and a blustery breeze.

Solihull is generally too far south, NW/SE divide is normally Stone/Stoke as the wet point, Stafford normally showers, and Cannock mostly dry

Eased here to drizzle now, Today's rain has certainly greened the fields up a little. 13mm today.. was in the garden pottering this morning and dug up a few King Edward's for my lunch, a few weeks to go yet but tasted wonderful.

Another 10 mins of drizzle last evening and night. Just enough to wet tarmac surfaces, but not enough to create puddles.

Recorded around 1mm again.

Again today, Solihull not really exposed to the Cheshire Gap, unlike here, if you want rain, move to Stoke/Stafford

I was in Nottingham today and it hammered down for around 15 mins at lunchtime, unexpected how heavy it was, as there was a chance a light shower but wasn’t expecting that, anyway I was at my daughters graduation with her First Class Honours....very proud as a father was me 🤗

Another wet morning, after it's rained for most of the night. It really  has been a vile few days for so-called high summer.

Felt very autumnal yesterday evening fairly gusty N/wly breeze with quite a chill in the air felt very much like October almost felt like I needed to put the heating on, house temp dropped to 20.5c from 23c earlier in the day shocking to think only a week ago we were at record breaking temps

Yes this time last week ( 11:35 am ) I was around 36c and a week later I’m at 14.6c and looking damp and very gloomy, hopefully we may see some brightness later, certainly the end of the week is looking far brighter and warmer 😎

I think Nottingham as in the city itself is so made up for uni students, I’ve been so impressed, my daughters boyfriend also was there but at a different uni , so many universities within the city it’s amazing, but they stayed together in the same accommodation, it’s used to be the old HMRC build that was converted into student accommodation slap bang within the city 👌

She was awarded the degree of Bachelor of Science with first class honours.

But now....A much deserved year out with a *little trip* around the world with her boyfriend for 8 months, they are very sensible so I’m not that worried.... yeah! who am I kidding 🥴

Well - I got my wish...

At approx 11;30 we managed a 5 minute shower, which created puddles. This after two or three attempts at drizzle over the previous few hours.

The veg loved it.

Unfortunately my wife spotted a squirrel on top of my rain recorder having a shower(!!!) and the value I have recorded is miles too high and valueless.

More please - then we can have a nice sunny August..🙃

Back to what we are best at 😉 it turned out lovely this afternoon with blue skies was here in Solihull, okay temps were not at there best, but a week ago I would of died for them, for those who’ve forgot,  it was in the high 30’s then 🥵
