Set this up out of pure boredom but precip should be near soon enough

My mate has confirmed it's snowing at sea level, right on the coast, yet I'm 10 miles inland, and 200ft asl, yet it's rain, you couldn't make it up. Ha ha

May be good news - wasn't really expecting a much colder airmass to follow, but that sounds as if it may just be a narrow warmer slice before it turns back to snow, especially with night falling.

Yes looks like it's starting to slow and pivot as I type

Interesting another update from the metoffice just now saying Hertfordshire higher accumulation s

Which is only just north of us

Their highlighting proposed biggest impact areas that’s all- and those can.. and probably will change in exact geographical plots.. open book this 1 atm .. we’ll know more aroun 5/6 pm on track and trace...

Light snow flakes here in Surbiton. Hubby is taking son out for a walk in it as I'm under the weather. If we get heavy snow later, I'll be out in it sick or not, can't miss the opportunity!

I know the feeling! I'm also under the weather but nothing like a good dump of snow to cheer me up, I'll also go out later if it gets heavy before bedtime 😁

Been snowing heavily here for about an hour now. Big wet flakes to begin with and heavy enough to turn the roads white. Even the main road in places. Smaller drier flakes now but still falling quite heavily. About 1cm so far and I'm not far above sea level but about 8 miles from the coast.

Latest 12Z Arome broadly backs up the Met Office warning. Looks a bit frustrating for Londoners if this comes off, with the largest accumulations circling the capital

Current radar vs. Arome

V. similar but it'll still be down to radar watching. Hoping for a few cm in NE London from this.

Would be a little frustrating if it skimmed round us like that.

Snowing heavily at Bodle Street now (my parents) grass and Lane covered. Driving home could be interesting...

Looking at the radar my concern is that there doesn't seem much more incoming from the channel?

Yep but the pivot zone isn't far from N London, fingers crossed!

I’m not likening the increasing amounts of sleet and rain reports inland. The radar still looks good for Kent though

looking at the radar reminds me of that very old quiz show the golden shot.

'up a bit, left a bit, fire!' 😄

just need the front to move a bit more north and east and then swivel round back into SE london and i would be happy 🙂

I am pretty surprised by some of the output that is close to giving some snowfall even to my location. I thought that honestly I would be too far away to be in the game.

Snowing heavily here in Wadhurst and more to come. Everything is white and accumulating, so good news.

Concern for this location specifically is that certain models are looking really accurate and while it it is pivoting, the energy is moving East more than I'd like. We're under heavy stuff now, but the bulk could definitely end up a bit too far east and skim narrowly past us. Met office has heavy snow symbols for us till midnight, and I'd love that to come true, but I'm a little dubious.

Hopefully we can hang on to light snow at least. Otherwise, parts of mid Kent are looking very promising.
