So today I’m travelling from Wakefield to Kings across, and then I have to get to East London on the Tube. I’m there all day and getting the train back up north at 6pm. What a day to go to London. I’m sure there will be delays at some point.

A lesson in not believing the net weather radar precipitation type.

Showing rain and sleet.

The reality is snow, not just falling but settling too right on the South Coast.

A cloudy but dry start here, not seeing much change through today as the first front remains south of here, but close enough to be trapped under thick high cloud.

Looking nice and wintry at daybreak here in NE Surrey, snow has eased for now though.

Rain all the way here in Southend, I'm guessing from the lack of snow reports that is the case across South Essex?

Started off as rain in Benfleet but turned to snow around 5am. Nothing settling. Seems to be getting a little heavier now.

To all rhe people who said it wouldn't it has for a second time this winter. We have a winter wonderland. Yes it's a bit sleepy but it's settled. And it's a decent covering. Sorry if you haven't. Pleased and surprised

And I am about 45ft above sea level

Thanks that's good to hear, seem to have our own micro climate here, with snow falling just over the estuary in Kent.
