Yes, to continue the theme of this spell of the Met seeming to overcook the temperatures a little - max was forecast for 3-4C I think, but it struggled to get above 1C. Forecast now shows 1C at 7pm, but it appears we’re looking at -1/-2C at the moment.

I can only hope this continues on and bodes well for the forecast (rain) showers tomorrow and other LP systems coming over the coming days! Ever the optimist 🤞🏼

Picked up some interesting "ice bobbles" on the tips (probably a better word for it) of my shoelaces this morning (Friday)  from the frost while marching up and down to the targets at archery in 0C temps. Was like a heavy, dirty dual-hailstone, a microscale analogy to a very dirty comet. It's all a question of scale. We are here but once, so observed for pleasure.

Thick, freezing fog here, everything's very white.

I was the post that I’ve just woken up, open the curtains and not sure if there’s been a very fine covering of snow. But after reading your post and seeing that it is foggy, it is just most likely frozen fog particles

. grass does not seem to be so white, but the cars and the roads and plants are most definitely covered in the frozen fog. Absolutely beautiful to see though.

It looks lovely here down in the valley, up on the hills will be stunning. The Mendips often suffer from very low cloud which can be grim, dank murk when it's mild but it's a real bonus when there's frost about, thick, thick rime on everything.

Well it's a tad chilly this morning.  Currently  -3°c and freezing fog too. Sat in bed with a nice cup of tea my cat has decided to  join me she is obviously  feeling cold as she has got under the quilt 🥶😅 .

Morning All,

As others have observed, freezing fog and the shed is saying its -3c at 10am so not sure what the lowest would have been. The fog was starting to form as I cycled home form work last night so it didn't come as a surprise.

Probably not that accurate, but google said -5c in Stroud at 8.30 am! Saw a little freezing fog falling then, but not a covering. Remember seeing that a lot as a child in the 80’s in Gloucester, where we had dense fog for days on end!

Thick freezing fog and frost this morning looking lovely. Still -3°C after a minimum of -6.6°C.

It'll somehow still rain though if any precipitation turns up…

A very chilly good morning to you all from Taunton . Temperature 0.0C from a -2.5C at 7am .

Fog is very thick round here and some motorists don't have their lights on !

I'm sorting out the lounge so I can put the artificial tree up . I'm so tempted to get a real one- just a very small one .

Anyone else has their decorations up ?

How are you Becca ? Xx
