Again I don't know if this Ventusky is accurate or not. Fascinating anyway watching the storm develop

Wind gust and pressure from 1am tomorrow morning to Friday evening

We've just cancelled our trip to Cemaes on Friday!

Cemaes,  Friday,  12noon,  high tide,  with 80-100mph gusts straight on shore , I can think of safer places to be bud .... the spray from the sea probably landing somewhere near the Isle of Wight (Be Safe Home Safe)

Remember that in the 87 storm winds gusted to 94mph in Central London! Won't he anywhere near that. Though that was at 2am when folk were in bed or at least indoors.

That's when the instrument broke, could have been, and probably was more.

I was thinking that, once Storm Dudders has done its worst, there'll be millions of already weakened trees waiting for Eunice. Thank God the trees are nae in-leaf!

You’re right - it’s quite notable the number of coniferous and fir trees coming down.

Was that at the top of the BT tower if I recall correctly?

We were camping there in '79 when the Fastnet storm hit, which was interesting. Bricks and mortar these days but I'll be watching the Harbour webcam closely on Friday. Going on Sat instead so hoping it's all still there!

Cobra are meeting regularly at the moment with the things going on in Ukraine so another impending disaster on the agenda might as well be talked about ?‍♂️

A quick example of what circa 70mph gusts of wind can do, the lesser value expected nationwide come Friday;

I think it was quite soon after that my parents bought a trailer tent and our European trips started too. There's probably loads of people with a similar story to tell - it was quite traumatic! Hasn't cured my camping bug though.....

Funny enough we were camping in Polzeath as well at the Valley Campsite... Kept getting woken up by the flare for Padstow lifeboat.

The Far South West however has slightly lower wind speeds.

Yeah area dependent. South west, London may be lower compared to 12Z, but a bit higher for Midlands and parts of the North
