That first video was from last year I think? During a small tornado in Essex I believe?

Knew I had seen that somewhere...

The wind in Barry, South Wales has been horriffic, getting some of our most powerful gusts still now so I can only imagine those further east still have a long way to go before the worst of the winds pass.

Some of you on this thread really need to grow up.  It's like being back at school!

Or for me, its like 5 days of the week

Winds died down a bit here but earlier I would say near 70mph wind gusts perhaps more.

Power's been gone for an hour. The gusts out in the garden are exceptional right now. Anyone to my east: the worst is about to come.

Great, as it's strong enough already, don't need more.

Winds here in Droitwich have really picked up over the last half hour Trees down all over Worcestershire and looks like worst winds are still to come

As a side note can we leave the squabbling till after Eunice has passed as there are far more important things to concentrate on!!

TIA

Not trying to belittle anyone's damaged but those sort of fence panels are always the first to go and looking at the trees it doesn't look anymore than about 55 - 60mph. I haven't seen any vids that look more than about 70 so far. At 80mph trees are almost fully bent over or flapping around wildly...

Does this classify as that? Ive never experienced winds as strong as this here before by the Thames (Im in Kent looking towards Essex)

I am surprised the red alert didn't get extended to a later time. Just had our highest gust here yet at 85mph. Blew the washing line over and some branches just snapped off the trees. It's actually much windier now than when the red alert was in place

Big Jet TV are live at Heathrow! Epic action!!

I did NOT need that link!!! Now I'm hooked. I've watched 2 come in, one a Qatari A380 and I'm gonna have to go lie down in a darkened room. I landed at Edinburgh just as Storm Ali was hitting in 2018. NEVER AGAIN! Good luck to all of the pilots and crew and passengers who are trying to land in this. Hope they all stay safe. P.S. Second Qatari A380 just failed a second time.

Daughters just lost her 6ft high brick wall 20220218_122858.thumb.jpg.ab0b97ab938d1388e823610e1f9742d8.jpg

As a less fortunate renter&apartment dweller im less concerned than if i owned a house tbh least if anything happens the housing association will fix it for me i guess. Hope theres no further damage there! Pretty bad though this is my place looking at Essex from Kent

They have for the south..... But have got it very wrong for the north regarding wind speeds.

Incorrect. As Eunice exits the NE coast the stronger winds on its western side will start to affect areas further north. Going by the AROME model, for example, has Sheffield seeing its peak gusts 3-5pm today.
