Just on the way back from the Netherlands and witnessed some CG’s to the East heading South towards Rotterdam! Typical everything fires up as I head back.
Good to be heading back into a convective UK nevertheless!

Oh,...just seen your post, are you anywhere near home yet mate?

The heaviest part of the storm may just slip south of you Harry, looks intense on that southern arm.

Pretty much an accurate description there @Allseasons-si  had plenty of rumbles and a few flashes (in fact still having!). Mostly IC lightning.

Update - sounds as if the activity might be increasing again. Had a couple of rumbles in quick succession.

Update again - make that five in quick succession

Hail, torrential rain, thunder & lightning here, where the red triangle is

been a good warm last few weeks in prep for storm chasing from the end of next week in the USA, obviously hoping for something more severe lightning and hail wise, plus a few tornadoes!

We seem to be breeding the storms here for the east,...oh well there will be more chances this summer no doubt, and hopefully from the 13th June when i will be off work for 2 weeks.

Yep - a few cracks of lightning and thunder here in Reigate. Storm number 3 in as many weeks. So far 2022 is being very kind to my (normally) stormless zone!  Lightning looked to be about cloud base and up. I don't think we had any ground contact.

Just heard a rumble of thunder here a few minutes ago. Hasn't been followed up by any more though. Still it was something more than the nothing we've had this year until then.

Could be more to come perhaps?

yeah it seems the thunder and lightning were quite localised as shown by the radar lightning detector
