A further two cells in London this afternoon/early evening.   I've had 5 thunderstorms today,  arguably the best I've experienced in a few hours probably since the late 90s, early 2000s.

This setup in June/July would be horrific.

Yep can’t remember a day with more thunder some really loud booming thunder also and blinding flashes some of these were real close.

The hail storm here around 1pm largest I’ve seen in over 6 years, battered my plants! Was utterly torrential more frozen accumulation than what winter produced.

NOT MY PIC

Saw this on a group chat. Two funnel clouds next to each other in the Scottish Highlands today, a truly fantastic sight!

I’m afraid that pic was from 2019...

Too good to be true, that's unfortunate; cool that was real but thanks for letting me know that it happened 3 yrs ago.

Timelapse from today as well, noticeable the amount of convergence. You can see cells suddenly get an oomph and spring up.

Watched a line of thunderstorms stretching from Gatwick in West Sussex to Rochester in North Kent late this afternoon with my 10 year old son looking south from a viewpoint on the North Downs near Caterham above M25, Surrey. Saw some CGs from the line but only managed to capture IC lightning.

A couple of pics from yesterday's storms.

And inspecting the damage from the close lightning strike I videod last Thursday. The engineer told me they had to patch up the cable as it was crumbling as they tried to fix it. So they will replace some of the cable. There was damage to about 600 metres of copper cable and fibre.

OMG think I may of saw a funnel today or landspout from a passing light shower. I can tell it might of been a funnel because it seemed to not break up for a good 5 mins. Anyways I can leave it for the experts to judge !

Not a expert but I can't tell if there's rotation, if there is any its slow, whereabouts in the cloud mass was it? If it was at the back then I'm pretty sure there's only specific areas of the rear flank it can be and knowing that will help me figure it out.

I'd say that is scud below an updraught, I couldn't see any rotation. These types of features are quite common below stratocumulus

Although these types of weather setups with inversions and shallow convection, and sunny intervals can produce funnel clouds.

I'm pretty sure i seen some very weak rotation in the clouds here too, hardly noticeable though, just the very slightest circular motion but no funnel.

Scud ? Wow ! I thought those only happen in intense thunderstorm updrafts not on an atmospherically stable day in late spring ? Anyways you proved me wrong. Also I did want to say afterwards I saw another scud like feature, landspout?

Just reviewed the full vid and can can confirm rotation that my friend is saying might be a funnel but I still believe you guys that it’s a scud.

In my opinion it was something I have seen many a time, a sudden increase in inflow into a scud feature that appears to make it rotate but it doesn't make it a funnel cloud necessarily, instead I like to call it an inflow tail even though I don't think that's what it's actually called.

I'm not a pro on storms, but noted on the lunchtime weather forecast (c/o Chris F) a large 'flabby' area of low pressure over us in the UK, with the possibility of slow moving thundery activity in the South West tomorrow and more generally on Tuesday and to a lesser extent on Wednesday.

Wow this has just popped up and has a hail core with frequent strikes! May pose a flooding risk as it trains over similiar areas.

Had a shower this afternoon, with large convective drops of rain. Some nice towering Cu off in distance, to see out the day.
