Staying at home today so hopefully Belper could get something in the next couple of hours. My thoughts were that today's showers and storms are moving too fast to be able to chase.

haven't had anything nearby today but i'm certain i heard the odd distant rumble of thunder through the day but it was difficult to tell with the odd wind gust of around 30mph blowing around.

it is safe to say we finally hear a storm

Aye, think this setup is generally better for this area than a 'plume' most plumes break down with a whimper in this area

I'm to your northeast so for me they need to be building east of you.

Those skies are black as night over to my East, with storms rapidly approaching!! Rain starting to pour down!

Hearing near constant rumbling of thunder now!

Just standing on my balcony watching the storm, desperately trying to think of another way to record it, I realised that Brumcam is over 20 years old.

So .. I've got the storm on Mini DV

Large Pea sized hailstones just finished dropping from the sky at my location, it's been quite a while had hail this intense dropping!

Edit: Was on the periphery of that intense storm as it side swiped Stoke to the east on the A520 Corridor, has moved up to Leek and the Peak District.

almost had our first rumble of thunder in 2 years but unfortunately the storm was just a bit too far east for us to see or hear anything lol....havn't even had a drop of rain today yet. At least there are beautiful cloudscapes to the north east

Here in High Wycombe we have had a good hour of heavy rain. No thunder but the rain did cause minor surface water flooding on local roads. MOst exciting weather event of the year so far.

What i would give for an hour of rain !!
