Due to the rising 850 temps and it being mid July can we expect temperatures to rise until 6? Normally they peak around 5 but this is a different situation

Now 3rd hottest ever day behind 10th August 03 and 25th July 19.

Could well see a max temp a little higher than that as well shortly.

Going yo be a close run thing, several stations are now within spitting distance.

The breadth of falling local records really is something! The heat seems so uniform across a wide area, which is noteworthy in itself.

37.1 Hawarden, new record for Wales by some margin

Two spots in Wales "enjoying" (if that's the right word) a Foehn effect.  Really interesting seeing these records in unexpected places.

Topped out at 35.3c in Winchester. Breaking our record of 35c previously in 2006. Down to 34c now. Me chickens aren't happy!

Local stations have broken their records with temps in the 36Cs, with Weston Park oh-so-close to passing its 35.1C on the 4pm update (34.9C!) Gonna be a tight one there. Not sure where we stand with the 35.6C record as I'm not sure what station that was.

My station today reached 37.7 degrees. I only count readings past 3 o’clock as before that the station goes haywire except overnight.

Maximum temperature 36.9°C so far in Warwickshire (Wellesbourne Airfield). Not far off the Midlands record of 37.1°C recorded in 1990, but the station record of 35.4°C in 2019 has been beaten. Temperature has dropped slightly now, and not expecting much further rise given the time.
