No thunderstorms but a reasonable day here, actually glad we missed the band of rain to our south.

I just saw a direct bolt of lightning hit a tree in our local park, and a second one immediately after hit the bandstand, then a funnel clo-

no actually I’m making this up. There has been some rain though

Heavy shower passing by about 5 miles to my west currently.

Northerly winds starting to pick up slowly as the low moves away, with other showers forming in the West Midlands region.

Although some convection around and some heavy rain a generally disappointing day given the depth of the low crossing the country...i expected more excitement and storm activity of which to my understanding there has been very little...looks as so Friday could be more of an interesting day in the east re heavy showers/ potential storms...

The direction is fantastic, given more favourable conditions would be a great chance for one of our best opportunities for a proper homegrown storm. Storms moving SEly from Gloucester have given this area some wonderful events in the past.

Unfortunately I don’t think time is on our side today, so looking like a bust for the CS

looking SSW towards Stratford and Alcester direction about 15 mins ago. Would have expected something move lively out of these showers with such a deep low to be honest.

Plenty of showers to come, but I'm not holding up much chance of anything unusual here (Reigate - I'm back).  If anything turns up, I'll post!

Yep. Only a load of showers, and no wind to speak of. I don't know if anyone else had anything interesting, but not even the showers were that noteable. We could do with some nice warm sunny days! (Followed by an energetic Spanish plume...)

The storms are ‘arrowing’ on lightning radar, suggesting a loss of intensity. For the distance they need to go I wouldn’t expect these to get further than another 50 miles before spluttering into just showers.

I hope I’m wrong, but I’m a weather-weary U.K. chaser, hope is a premium thing 😅

Those Bristol storms are headed my way, but I suspect they'll lose their fuel and leave me with some drizzle in a couple of hours! I can see the anvils nicely.

Still storm-less this year!
