Looks like the storms are weakening as the temperature falls.

It does, but the AROME model has cells maintaining intensity E Yorks into Lincs through this evening, and it seems to have modelled the isolated outbreaks this afternoon quite well, so we'll see if we have a second wind in a few hours.

The latest UKV and Arome both favour the Midlands tomorrow for an MCS like event. Would not be surprised if there was the odd large chunk of hail.

Constant booming thunder and a huge anvil here! The core is well to the south though. Must be interesting around Humberside Airport at the moment given the supercell signature.

I think it’ll be moving north so we’ll still be in with a chance if that comes off.

This is what the 06z UKV was showing, it's a pretty big shift south. Disappointing considering we never get really good thunderstorms here.

Yup, you were right. Of course it will be the East Midlands that get the huge storms, same as ever.

A fairly bright flash and loud deep rumble of thunder despite being quite far away from the core. I wonder if that was a CG from the anvil?

Quite impressive either way. We keep going from periods of infrequent thunder to constant rumbles.
