Not expecting any storms here in Stoke, but got some great pics and a video of last Saturday's storm, that I've only just had chance to sort through.

There was some great convection before the storm earlier in the day, from I believe a storm to my east.

It was too far away to see any lightning or hear any thunder though.

Later on, I noticed some nice elevated convection approaching from my south, although it didn't really amount to anything, was nice to see though.

Not long after this, around 5pm I believe, I noticed another CB, and could hear constant thunder, but couldn't see any lightning at this point.

As the CB approached, it grew significantly taller.

It was really amazing seeing how fast it was growing taller and taller, you could see it in real-time virtually!

Not sure on the height it went up to, but it was certainly quite high!

Now for the video (it's quite a long one!). The lightning is much more noticeable towards the end, since the storm was elevated, but from what I saw it was near enough constant, with hardly any gaps between the thunder! Would have been amazing to see at night 😄

I also got a pic of the side of the storm as it approached with a nice structure too.

After the storm, I was greeted with a nice sunset and a rainbow 🙂

New cell to the west of main Guernsey one, more on the French coast, and that line of towers I keep mentioning looks very encouraging. Today's been a rollercoaster of thinking Kent Clipper or whole SE clipper, but now there's 'hope' for the latter.

I'm really struggling on whether to stay local, or head towards Portsmouth way, I'm feeling it go either way

Any recommendations  for locations north of Portsmouth?

A wonderful line of Cumulus Congestus in the English Channel as seen now from Eastbourne with pink tops at sunset - a whole line of them developing which looks good for later. I think its all starting to develop.

Portsdown Hill Road has a great view over Pompey and the east Wight, I watched 2019's plume from there. It draws the crowds though...

Thanks everyone with your recommendations, Portadown hill looks like a good shout, I'm gonna give it 10 minutes before deciding

It's looking Very dark to my west, the light levels are dropping so fast it feels ominous
