Woah! Wasn't expecting that. Booms going off around me and I thought it was the farm machinery as harvest is going on. And then the strikes!

Was this expected?

Gosh it feels so stormy out even though just grey clag..had a few large drops and a rumble..

Same here, a few large drops for less than a minute and some distant booming thunder.

Yes a watch was issued, on the netweather home page however I think it's more intense than expected.

Interesting, it's a destabilising warm front rather than cold front, a less common set up I think.

We either have fairly frequent thunder or a lot of folks wheeling in their bins. 😁

It's definitely thunder, and it's as dark as mid-evening!

I think it is the trough to the south of the warm front actually that has now moved further north

Yes, but for some reason not really mentioned on TV forecasts. Think they went cautious and just forecast heavy rain.

Quite a bit of thunder coming from cells just to the south.

And just as the storm arrived, we had a massive power cut!

Quite a strong storm heading into Weymouth however trajectory seems to be taking it quite far north of here.

A flash and rumble nearby a few minutes ago. So wish the actual storm clouds were visible!
