AROME for this evening showing just how much energy is possible for me in the SE. Just no real trigger on any of the models.

Yes, not the first time UKV has failed on the storm front this year.

Standing on Southend seafront half an hour ago there was an easterly wind coming off the North Sea. I looked up and saw clouds moving in from the west. Within ten minutes the wind had changed direction and it had got very dark as rain clouds moved in. Now awaiting the rain.

Been fascinating watching the elevated thundery cloud moving from the ssw while underneath the low cloud and indeed mist around the tree tops near me moving rapidly from the ese...

Clouds in the wind low level, clouds in the rain/storms are higher, they've over welmed the sea breeze by the sounds of it.

Seems to be settling down here heavy short bursts of rain for 20 seconds or so then nothing been some good lightning very bright and loud thunder.

I kid you not i have already had more lightning and thunder this afternoon and evening than i had the whole of august and september combined!!!best thing about today was it was totally unexpected!!!!
