  @carl1980 Does look rather potent.

The most southern portion is expanding Southwards as it tracks ENE.

Well that woke me up quickly 😄 so much for 'light rain until the morning' as per the MWIS and local overnight forecast.

Some really strong and gusty winds here. It's caused me to stir a few times over the past 3 hours or so, as well as the rain lashing against the window at times. The wind gusts have sounded as bad as Monday night, surprised there has been no warning to be honest.

Just had some proper house creaking gusts of wind. I'd say the wind strength is actually stronger than Monday night here.

As already said, a wild few hours overnight with the wind howling through the trees outside.

I don’t remember hearing much in the way of heavy rain though, just the wind but we have just had a short but sharp hail shower rattling against the windows.

Other than snow, this is the type of weather conditions I always associated with winter when growing up, instability and hail showers.

hopefully a quick clearance though with a better day coming up.

Winds have abated a lot here now, things much calmer. Some vicious gusts of wind overnight and squally showers. It's definitely caught out the metoffice this event.

Yes, I couldn't settle back to sleep, there's been some window rattling gusts.  Not as wet outside as I thought it would be, but noticed how the temperature has dropped, 12°C at 2.30am, just 4 and a bit hours later its just nudging 6°C.  Still a bit windy out here.

A much windier night than forecast associated with the squall line pushing through. Some really wild gusts 💨

A 65mph gust was recorded in Buxton overnight as that squall line passed at 3:20am, which doesn't surprise me.

I was in rather pessimistic mood yesterday, probably a reflection of the very dull wet conditions of late. Alas, today is much brighter, alot of cloud still, but will take it.

The weekend looking very reasonable for high winter, a good one to blow away the cobwebs so to speak.
