Morning all.

Milky sunshine,  no wind and the sweet smell of spring.

First lawn cut today whilst the weather window holds.

image.thumb.png.31c930d092e389401251138d29ab7dfe.png When you zoom right in, the bridge that collapsed at Baltimore is now reflected in the map. Someones on the ball.

Appears it was a genuine accident with the cargo ship suffering a power-cut prior to the impact.  Don't know much about ships but it could have affected its steering perhaps?  Mayday call was made which thankfully stopped more traffic passing over the bridge.  Thoughts go out to the bridge workers caught up in it.

Weather wise a good day after yesterday's drab affair.  I would like more of these slow southerly lows that take an interminable age to reach our parts.  We usually get away with the best of the days weather before it eventually crawls north.   Trade-off in the summer if it's a thundery low...but as for now the south can keep the rain.

Yes, I was expecting some showers this afternoon but it has remained dry throughout the day. I'm not sure we're going to be so lucky tomorrow. Barometer is very much on the down into the dark side, if you see what I mean.

A better day today, overcast, but still dry at the moment, the rain nudging up from the South.

Pretty decent decent spring day though clouds now have a very convective feel about them

One of those days that on paper suggested a rather poor one, but, surprisingly its stayed dry all day, yes cloudy, but not of the dull overcast low sky nature, indeed tried to brighten for a time. Max 10.5 degrees.

Rain set to sweep through whole region in coming hours.

14.5c in bright/sunny periods but more generally overcast this afternoon… great for having the patios jet washed as well as carpets indoors cleaned…  felt like spring again… esp with acers coming out and blossom in the sun rather than rain…

Going to be another snowless March for my area.

Since the frigid  March of 2013; Marches 2014, 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021 and now 2024 were snowless. March 2022 had just a few flakes falling right at the end of the month,

Even before March 2013, Marches 2009, 2011 and 2012 were snowless. I don't recall seeing falling snow during March 2010.

A dry and bright morning so far but cloud starting to build up and wind picking up. Must have rained heavily or continuously during the night as the local green and other 'hot-spots' are waterlogged again.

Just been out in the car, a very heavy sleet/hail shower hit me on the way home, temps really dropped in the car to around 4 deg.

Tomorrow looks pretty blustery, most of the weekend looks decent, but next week looks awful in the forecast! I know that's a week away and things change, so I hope they do.

Yip, just arrived on the shores of Congleton. Very much a sleet/rain front. Grim. Guess I'll be driving to the pub for dinner now.
