I spoke too soon! Forecast - dry and cloudy, Reality - wet since 10am although it has stopped now + signs of it brightening up a bit. Heavy blobs in the rain bordering on hail or sleet but nothing more.

Turned into a grey wet day and feeling quite chilly.

Looking forward to polar air tomorrow and much clearer cleaner sunnier skies, which we have seen little of so far this March.

WillinGlossop that's the Saltburn I know in 'Spring'! I don't imagine the miniature railway was running, but were you able to take a ride on the Cliff Tram? Seaview Fish restaurant has certainly gained considerable popularity since it opened a few years back, and there are long queues for takeaway fish & chips during the summer holiday months. I've loved going to the town since my early childhood.

A Face like Thunder yes lovely Saltburn… the tram station at the bottom had a fire in January apparently… but wasn’t meant to open until April… not sure when it will open though… yes Seaview was where we were for tea… the restaurant and takeaway part was busy this evening… lovely area… only been out of season… October in 2019 and this time… in summer I can see it being rammed… especially with being so dog friendly

Nice and bright here this morning, although a bit breezy and cool enough. Great to see the sun out though!

Met office forecasting snow, heavy at times over Blencathra from mid-afternoon today, overnight and into tomorrow. There might be a half decent covering come Sunday. Hopefully one last hurrah at a height for this Spring.

Windy and sunny intervals at present with a temp of 8.4c.

11mm picked up this morning for previous 24hrs, but a bright and sunny well scrubbed sky so far today though more cloudy this afternoon.    Rain damage in all sorts of places showing up in the sunshne  -- buildings, farmland, roads and on the railtrack nr Grange  probably --

Four passengers and four staff members were on board when the train derailed at Grange-over-Sands.

jimben Certainly the next 36 hours or so will be cold enough for snow to not only fall but settle to quite modest heights, about 500-600m in any sustained heavy precipitation with evaporative cooling taking affect. All very normal, we are not quite late season for snow on high ground, indeed it can fall easily well into May, but tends not to stick for long if at all, but April can bring heavy falls and decent coverage still.

Its a bright fine early spring day here, but cold feeling, with a brisk cold wind, temp maxed around 9.5 degrees. Dry so far but showers knocking on the door.

Tomorrow set cold with a strong wind and plenty of showers to dodge, could be quite heavy with hail.

Early finish Friday on one of those rare days that turns out better than forecasted.

A cold breeze is the only thing spoiling it but my free late afternoon is taken up by some inside painting so I suppose it doesn’t really matter how nice it is outside.

Just caught a heavy downpour with a bit of hail about 5 mins ago, and other than a brief shower this morning around 9 it's been sunny and breezy all day, a welcome respite which allowed me to put in 6 hours at the allotment

A superb day with sunny skies for the most part  Dry until around early evening when we had a solitary hefty shower. Temp reached 10.8C, but a slightly chilly feel in the breeze.

A few squally showers this eve, feeling very cold in a biting wind. Tomorrow a day for wrapping up and expecting fresh snow on the fell tops. Welcome to spring!
