Plenty of showers/convective activity around the region this afternoon;

Odd sferics thrown in for good measure.  Hail & sleet possible too.  Suppose it’s something different to frontal drizzle and overcast skies.

Quite a downpour of hail in the last 5 minutes from the edge of a shower passing over!

Tidy little bit of hail as the latest trough passes over.

It might be yet another wet day but at least its squally heavy showers with some dry, even sunny, breaks in between so a bit more interesting to the usual mono cloud and drizzle/rain

Cells to the left of me, cells to the right of me,, ere I am stuck in the middle with a view.

The cell just over Mapantz's place was putting on a great lightning show with Cg & CC lightning. Meanwhile the cell nearest us gave us 10 seconds of hail and a couple of minutes the with rainfall. So close, yet just too far away.

Snow, hail, gales, torrential rain, sunshine and now lightning and thunder approaching to round off the day! A few distant flashes seen in the fading light plus rumbles too!

Thunder and lightning out west. Hail here from the that lone cell, so stood in the greenhouse.

Some amazing cloud to ground fork lightning over Shepton Mallet.  Not frequent, but very sharp when it does happen.

Not much rain/hail though.

Well, what an interesting day some snow this morning and now it’s thunderstorms this evening

Sometimes can go a whole summer without thunderstorms and a whole winter without any snow and now I’m getting both of these in the same day

Lots of energy to our south. Could be an interesting few hours.

There’s been several stunning flashes and very loud thunder. Really heavy hail too.

Heard a really loud bang . Thought I was going to have to bend over and kiss my a** goodbye 😱😂

Didn't  realise  thunder was lurking.

Latest update does show the amount of electrical energy dissipating as the heat of the day (and the inbound air) subsides a tad!

Yes, very turbulent out there this evening. The most thunder and lightning I’ve seen in Wiltshire for quite some time.

The wider view shows the next area of rainfall prepping itself in readiness.

Were you in Wilts? This time I bet you wished you were in Lulworth as it was a beaut as it cruised through and you would have had a ringside seat on this one.

Nicest March t-storm in a while, a dozen flashes after a hail shower earlier and two on the 23rd as well! ⛈️

If anyone uses Facebook go to Spotted in Warminster Town to see a remarkable strike caught on a video doorbell!

Nice one.

Some heavy rain in the current surge from the south, standing outside it went from rain, to heavy rain back to rain within 2minutes.

I've noticed that the wind has been slightly stronger that forecast for here. I wonder what tomorrow may bring? Met Office showing mid 50's for around 4 hours. 🍃

It's howling now!

Wow! That was unexpected...

Drove home from Torquay via Totnes, some horrendous visibility with snow. Was beginning to lay on higher parts but it's even snowing here in Kingsbridge. Roads flooded where they weren't white🤣

Temp slowly dropped from about 5 to 1 degrees on the way home - no wonder it's snowing!
