Wasn't expecting this wind today.  Must be 60mph+ even inland.  On a par with Henk and Isha back in January I'd say.

When does a convective discussion become a ‘tornado warning’?

Answer - when an ill-informed journalist on a local rag completely misinterprets the information.

A TORNADO warning has been issued for Dorset today.

Short on news day, the local rag doesn't interpret, it just posts!, totally agree with you.

Woke up.  Opened the blinds.  Looked out the window.

Yet more really heavy rain pulsing from SSW-NNE. The persistence of this - forming in the same area and following the same track - is getting ridiculous!

Currently in a dry slot, blue skies, breezy. Had a couple of downpours earlier.

Andy Bown I saw the A303 at Mere on the news this morning flooded. My sister is driving to Midsomer Norton tomorrow from Guildford to visit my mother and we're wondering how passable some of the roads will be; definitely not going via Chitterne!

Absolutely tonking it down. Hail too. Looked like it was fizzling out on the radar, then it pepped up out of nowhere.

Literally just got some grass seed down and covered it in compost.

Blue skies out West, so it'll be lovely in a bit.

Bought BBQ stuff for tomorrow, or Sunday. 🤞🏼

Bright sunshine after a couple of showers earlier this morning, with the wind easing slowly.

On Golden sands, not a lot of grockles to be seen.

Turned into a fairly nice day here once the early showers cleared. Not particularly warm in the breeze but plenty of sun and blue skies.

Beautiful first thing. A few clouds bubbling up now, but it's still lovely. Nice and warm too in the Sun too.

Morning All, as noted a fine BLUE sky earlier this morning, now filling with some spring like Cu. The overnight clear sky allowed the temperature to drop to 3.7°C at: 06:37, currently 13.3°C, RH72% and a light breeze from the SW with scattered clouds at an altitude of 1,800 ft.

From Above, the bands of showers over Devon and Cornwall showing nicely.

On Golden sands, looking a little busier today.

☀️CLEAR BLUE SKY ☀️

Andy make the most of it, it looks unlikely to last long:

Met Office Outlook

Wednesday 3 Apr - Friday 12 Apr

The ongoing unsettled spell of weather seems likely to continue through the first few weeks of April. Initially, the heaviest and most frequent spells of rain and showers are likely to be across southern parts of the UK. Often windy, especially in the south and west.

Saturday 13 Apr - Saturday 27 Apr

Through mid to late April, there is no strong signal for any one particular weather pattern to dominate over another. As such, further rain and showers are likely at times, but there is also a reasonable chance of some drier and sunnier spells of weather.

So wellies and waders to the fore, for a while longer!

Dorsetbred we are and I know!

Used a whole large butt of water to power wash our patio/paths this morning. We usually brush the water onto the lawn but it’s absolutely saturated (can’t think why !!!!!! ) so hasn’t drained away 😂

The drying result is pleasing as is a line full of washing! Hopefully an afternoon playing outside on the patio.

Cracking afternoon. Knocked off our jobs early to light the BBQ and make the most of it before it vanishes. 🍻
