The Storm didn't seem as bad as the last one. Kept power which is always welcome.

I hope anyone who lost theirs gets it back on quickly. During the last Storm (been so many I forget the name) my Son and his family were without power for over 24hrs. 3 miles away from me.

I wonder what the next one will be like. Fingers crossed it will be unnoticeable. As if!

Well first lunchtime bike ride for over a week, snow and ice kept me off two wheels last week.

Still blowing, WSW force 6-7 once out of the village, and although 8c the wind made it feel cold, coupled with frequent blustery showers. Time ran out due to head winds, so only managed 8 miles. Its one of those days where the downhill bits into the wind were slower than the same bits uphill in the opposite direction.

A quick look round the village and no major damage, a bit of a garage is blowing in the wind a few doors away, I saw pile of metaL that was a deceased TV aerial, and a fence leaning at a drunken angle, but as I said earlier we didnt get the worst of it here.

Compared to the one in December this was a mere kitten. 2 gusts over 50 mph and that was it. The more southerly direction was the main reason.

Lost my rear fence last night to the storm, and spent today bodging it back into place, only for an almighty storm to arrive just now. Thunder, lightning, heavy gusts and sideways rain. It's probably already been blown back down....

Just driven home through an intense down pour, thunder, lightning hailstones like marbles, temp dropped 4°c in 2 miles, white over coming into the village, that was crazy 😬

Just having the same here, white over now, and blowing hard again. Looking at radar now moving out to sea.

I saw that area of cloud suddenly turn very dark grey over Dishforth and move eastwards. It looked very potent!

One of the strikes over the Wolds produced a power dip here, so obviously hit something important, by the time it was over us there was no electrical activity, last strike was over your way, but the hail was notable, the wind howled, and based on wind direction changes I think there may have been some rotation, but it was too dark to see

Wind really starting to get up now here. More of a Westerly direction than Sunday's storm so could get quite nasty overnight.

Yeah nearly 12c here still too. Crazy for a January night 😔😥

27mph recorded in last 30 mins so it's matching Sunday so far. See what overnight brings

Temps gradually rose here during the day reaching a peak of 14.5c at 7.20pm!  Completely bizarre for a January evening.

Wind as bad as the other night. But no rain this time which should help.
