Don’t get too downhearted, the Jetstream forecast looks very promising from a week’s time.

Who knows, the N. American cold arrives via Hudson Bay in ten days time?

A bit of Friday banter - still have the posts of 2 weeks ago in my head.... I’m confused….

- ‘’features and troughs popping up everywhere’’

- ‘’get the cold in first’’

- ‘’booom’’

- ‘’Game on’’

- ‘’People in the mod thread moaning at people complaining the setup isn’t good enough’’

- ‘’Best Synoptics I’ve ever seen’’

2 weeks later - not one flake for 90% of the country 🤣🤣🤦‍♂️

I should write a book of these quotes really, happens every time 🙃

The words echo & bounce around, but let's not forget "the cold will be hard to shift" - now i'm expecting Sunday's Storm to turn into a Blizzard which it surely should be, with all that cold air hanging on

And their snipers in this one have run out of targets.

That made me chuckle, so true.... hindsight makes everyone look a smart-'arris.

The meek cold spell is over here.

Rapid temp increase took place as the wind became south-westerly

Yes, normal (weather) service will be resumed from tom morn, for here.

2 weeks or so of 'wasted' extra gas for the CH, just to see a few hard frosts.

Give me a week of 13/14c so i can persuade the 'fair one' we dont need the heating on.

Just 4 weeks 'til The Hot Caribbean calls😎👍.

Apparently El Niño is declining already, hopefully this won't lead to a wrecked summer again.

Many, many swear words to follow if it does!

Yeah, I may just fly off to Spain and never come back! Don't need no horrible cool and wet weather throughout summer again.

Sister been sending pics from near Paris. We really need a lot of luck on our side at times when those 500 miles further South are getting copious snow, whilst all most got was mainly frozen ground & dustings.

Seeing as pattern changes occurr on 14 day basis, still 5 more chases possible I guess so not all bad. Let's hope the Scandi evolves differently though, as UK retrogression all a bit meh

I'm missing those blue skies already. I'm in the minority but I've enjoyed the past weeks weather and the abundance of bright & crisp winter sun! Never a fan of jumping back into the grey sheet lol.

Personally i like any variation in winter weather away from the wind AND rain…i don’t mind either on their own. We get snow every winter, whether that’s for a day or a week. I am a coldie, the weather has been gorgeous this last week, however, I don’t chase it. It’s different for us living on a hillside in the pennines to somebody living in a semi-detatched house in Hastings (for example). The difference being is that we face the extremes of winter weather and i’m sure any hill dweller will tell you that we just don’t like the wind AND rain. 😆

Clinging on to the last of the snow here. Can't really complain much better than some of us expected that little cold spell.to still have snow laying three days after it stuck I'll take that. Was a boss little surprise if a little brief.

This is a weather forum!!

Yes, extreme weather (all types) does cause issues (always has done), but it's the guilt tripping that winds me up and seems to be getting worse on here!  It's also a fact that very cold weather is getting rarer and rarer and will continue to do so.  Last week for example was nothing compared to the likes of events in the past including December 2010 and March 2013.  Most would have been satisfied to have seen a few days snow cover and I don't recall many wishing for weeks and weeks of freezing cold!

Most of us have our selfish indulgences. It's human if we love something so much to perhaps lose sight of the impacts it may have on others. There are worse things than liking cold and snow.

Not especially. Comfortable you could say. Though I don't understand what any of this has to do with the weather.

It has nothing to do with it, hence they've all been removed.

Any further windups or guilt-tripping posts and they will be removed and action taken.

Absolutely; I've been obsessed with the stuff since 1963; but others haven't. I guess that's human nature? 😁
